Stirling Generator + + Rocket Stove
Re: Stirling + Rocket Stove + Generator
I do not know if the argument is relevant, but if this device, via the interest in mobile phones, could increase the dissemination of improved stoves, it would be appreciable.

chatelot16 wrote:pelletier module to make electricity in africa ??? it's wacky ... make a wood fire to make electric hobbies! I see this kind of peletier module only useful for supplying the electronic gadgets of a wood-fired boiler: the main function is to heat when there is electricity to turn the pumps and the fans ... in the event of a power outage, the pelletier modules can rotate the pump and fan at reduced power to provide minimum service better than complete failure
for africa there is no hesitation it is the best photovoltaic panels ... selling heating with cogeneration in africa is worse than selling fridges to the eskimos because with the heating they will need it !
Obviously it is solar PV which is suitable in Africa.
example:
Solar is a huge opportunity for African companies
Agence Ecofin May 12, 2015
The solar energy sector offers many opportunities for African start-ups. This opinion is shared by many people already involved in the sector including Uvie Ugono, the CEO of Solynta Energy, a company specializing in solar installations and Sachi DeCou, co-founder of Juabar, a company that designs and builds kiosks of solar chargers.
Africa, which receives around 49% of global solar radiation, is also the least electrified continent. About 585 million people in sub-Saharan Africa do not have access to electricity and only 20% of the population is connected to electricity networks. "The general lack of access to conventional electricity makes solar one of the preferred solutions to allow access to electricity for these populations." Affirms Uvie Ugono. In addition, recent innovations in energy storage batteries, the lowering of the cost of solar energy and the adoption of the prepaid payment system, increase the accessibility of this type of energy to remote populations.
According to the two actors, African governments should put in place mechanisms to promote the development of this sector, especially by small and medium-sized enterprises in order to accelerate the electrification process. “Governments are not yet fully realizing the potential of this type of electricity. It will not only allow them to overcome frequent load shedding, but will also promote the establishment of a new economic sector with the key to the creation of thousands of jobs. ”Affirms Mr. Decou.

Small update of the subject to share my last realization with Peletier modules:

Re: Stirling + Rocket Stove + Generator
Theoretically, yes.
Now I'd like to see what a Stirling can generate with the same heat source.
Really, all I saw were little alcohol burner heated Stirlings powering a small 5mm LED (~ 100mW).
Then for this application in particular, it is better not to have moving parts generating noise.

Re: Stirling + Rocket Stove + Generator
The peltier in "seebeck" mode is at best around 2% https://www.coursehero.com/file/2826860 ... 008-32pdf/. In addition, high temperature modules should not be given? and the cold face must be cooled, low delta T.
Cogeneration stirling seems to be interesting during heating periods with recovery of losses http://www.moteurstirling.com/applicati ... ration.php, but given the extreme operating conditions, the service life must be relatively limited?
In addition, if the maintenance is abandoned ??
At Viessmann, the link to stirling cogeneration has disappeared https://www.viessmann.fr/fr/chauffage-m ... ation.html

Re: Stirling + Rocket Stove + Generator
Excellent this Stirling on a wood stove!
This is exactly the use I envisioned for the Stirling engine, a way to generate electricity in winter when solar panels can no longer provide enough energy.

Yeah 100 W electric on 14 kW of thermal, it is still not folichon.Petrus wrote:Excellent this Stirling on a wood stove!
