Measure and monitor its car consumption

Tips, advice and tips to lower your consumption, processes or inventions as unconventional engines: the Stirling engine, for example. Patents improving combustion: water injection plasma treatment, ionization of the fuel or oxidizer.

Well, no ...
I think it is progressing since I have touched up my spreadsheet as advised by Bucheron. :D last night.

Small update therefore.
- gross consumptions erased when they are "crazy"
- formulas for consumption per 5000 kms reviewed
- integration of formulas for consumption by 20000 km
- new graphics

https://www.econologie.com/fichiers/partager/consoax.xls

The new one overwritten the old file it looks like.

Some points :

For identical use, stable consumption over 20000 km (the first 80000 km: same number of people, same driver and identical journeys).
Consumption then decreases (regularly 2 people then 1 alone).
Consumption continues to drop after 180 kms (driver change, economical driving, vehicle a bit lighter at the time ...).
The type of driving and the load are therefore very important aspects it seems (15% of consumption for this small car).
Interactions depending on the season: around 8%.

I keep working to get other info.

In this case so much the better, I said nothing ... there are others who would not have taken Bucheron's remarks as well ...

Amusing this cyclical side of consumption by 5000 km ...
Can we relate it to seasons?

Ah yes: we can!

All the high cons (around 5 l) are between the months of October to about March and all the low cons (around 4.5 l) are between June and September ...

I didn't think the influence was so clear! : Shock:

It would not be bad if you made the consos in 5000 km sections until the end ... : Mrgreen:

Hello Bucheron,

Indeed, I had already noticed this cyclicity with the spreadsheet of the AX (there must even be a little analysis on my part on this file, right?). So we will have to wait a few more months to observe the real repercussions of my aero modifications on consumption. By then I would have imagined something else I think! :P

For the invitation to additional work (the slices of 5000) it should not be forgotten that these spreadsheets are there to allow everyone to work on HIS ideas with a REAL realistic database and kilometers actually done.
Clearly: I look forward to seeing your work : Cheesy: .

Hugs

Hello,
j, hope you have not just noticed that there is a clear difference between summer and winter and even worse on short trips of 15km as long as it does not go down to more than -5 the difference is minimal
This goes up to 50% more in winter, if the temperature drops below -20 to -30 it is not even necessary to measure, so it goes up on a petrol engine and a little less on a diesel and all this on engines preheat with a heating element on the 800w sector, so we can't say cold start.
Anyway a diesel that sleeps outside at -25 not heated it does not start or painfully with no large battery and the life of the starter is not long.
