Mix diesel + gasoline or E85 ethanol: consume less and clean your Diesel engine

Tips, advice and tips to lower your consumption, processes or inventions as unconventional engines: the Stirling engine, for example. Patents improving combustion: water injection plasma treatment, ionization of the fuel or oxidizer.

Hello !
Small question, what engine speed do you do these tests? because it is said that it is necessary, rightly, to roll soft, at low speed with SP95 or E85 it alleviates the fouling of the injectors and other elements or on the contrary?

Hard to say and especially to compare because it depends on the engine design and the staging of the box ... (among others)

On my old common rail I rarely exceeded the 2000 RPM ... max engine torque (so the best performance for a diesel) being reached between 1500 and 2000 ... (1750 memory)

On my current diesel I am rather between 2000 and 2500 RPM .... (2200 to 120 km / h) so it turbine more ... turbo pressure is 1.4 bars which is quite high.

The 2 are 4 engines in line 1.9L thus cubic unitary identical.

Logically, the faster a diesel engine rotates, the better it operates at the combustion level (because the cycles are faster = less cooling between 2 explosions) ... but obviously the more it wears out (forces on bearings and mechanical parts = f (RPM² ))

I did this for 6 months : Cheesy: , some asked questions, especially when I had the tissues on the pot :D

I also wonder what the oil tankers put as "antifreeze" in the winter in diesel

Hey guys ! Now that gasoline has become cheaper than Diesel, there is no more reason to hesitate to upgrade! : Mrgreen:

Do not exceed 12% ... that's it! : Mrgreen:

Bah, before I was 10% E85, but no more diesel ... 90% recycled frying oil ....

My test mixes E 85 at 10% and the rest in diesel fuel in a glass container: it remains homogeneous for about 12 hours and then a small amount of liquid goes to the bottom of the measuring cup! (water?) so watch out!

I nevertheless did a test on my Kangoo Dci with a new 5L mixture of e85 (10%)-diesel (90%), used in less than 12 hours and we noticed a 30% drop in opacity. .. (done with an opacimeter)
(From memory it was a little over 10% E85 to compensate with the rest of the tank...)
