Thank you, peace_angelh, for this well-documented argument to which I am willing to subscribe, concerning benzopyrenes, but I, who run on diesel, would like to know the reason why "benzopyrene concentration in tourism diesel engine outlets was about 100 times higher than in heavy-duty diesel "What difference in design and / or use can lead to such a difference in releases?

No one to answer these anti-diesel arguments? it's worse from worse than what I've read and written in forums econology.

Finally if all this is true we go straight to a cata in France with the huge proportion of diesels in traffic.

To follow ..... your opinions to counter the very detailed argument of our friend.

As for me I continue to drive LPG: no particles, little NOx ... etc we will not start again the bickering!

Hello
the concentration of Benzopyrenes in the outputs of passenger diesel engines was about 100 times higher than in heavy-duty diesel. "What difference in design and / or use can cause such a difference in emissions?

Whoever says such a thing could at least justify it
between a truck a car or a tractor the design of the engines is almost identical I would say even more rustic on a truck, it's been a long time since I opened a truck engine, but the ones I've been out of order were like the engines cars. Some had spare rooms else not ..
I think rather than politically not touching the trucks, it can degenerate into a riot and road blockage, see the paralysis of economic sytéme, seen from this angle the camoins will always be clean!
It's like the very tough eclogist, who told me your mower more than the big truck polo, while being the mower polished more than a 747, it's unbelievable that with a liter of fuel is polluted more than the one who burned 80litres at 100km? finally everyone believes what suits him ..

I agree with you, André, I'm waiting for peace_angelh's answer impatiently.

Hello
in French cities only and in the year 2002, between 6450 and 9500 additional cases of respiratory cancer deaths compared to what would have occurred if these same vehicles had run on gasoline.

In North America at least here where I live the car park diesel is rather low, apart from camoins, but for cancer mortality (without going into the details of cancer but I think we have a good scor and it 's is more the cardiovascular diseases which are in the lead, but the cancers, still it depends on who makes the elastics, the governments do not have interest to give us the right hour ..
But a simple remark, I'm in a city where the population is rather diminishing, or stable, yet the department of Chimioterapie is overwhelmed, they just have to count the houses in a street and look 15 years back, all who have to contract a cancer to receive the number, so their figures ???
It is quite possible that the diesel is more polluting than the gasoline engine, but for me they are polluting both in their own way the study that we read, is mostly written by Americans the mentality here it is big cars is anti-diesel (Mercedes, a specialist in diesel, has never been able to penetrate the American market with diesel, the liter of diesel has almost always been more expensive than gasoline here. that all European technology has focused on diesel while the American market is gasoline that makes a market share that escapes them ..

We had examples with Concorde, as they did not build he found him all the faults of the earth enough that forbade it on their territory at the beginning too much noise, too polluting too greedy ect ..
when the A 340 will be in service, what will be too big?

My personal opinion, the heat engines are an abortion in the combustion machines, any burner or welding lamps does better, a modern well-designed steam engine would be much better, currently it is the electric motor that is the track has privileged ..

Hi André,

when the A 340 will be in service, what will be too big?

...... A380 !! the largest.

Agree with you: gasoline contains a lot of very dangerous additives including benzene that vaporizes when filling the tank and these vapors are inhaled when refueling.

This kind of inconvenience affects me very little because when I fill up with LPG, gas distributors are very far from (usually) gas pumps (safety standards). The only thing that could happen to me is the explosion! but this is radical, there is no time to suffer from the harmful effects of chemotherapy.

The height is that we catch cancer by chemistry and we are treated by chemistry! Long live the man and his inventions.

The trucks and the recent buses (from 2004-2005) are already equipped with particulate filters and catalyst to limit these famous particles and benzopyrenes ...
Rest the pbl of NOx for them ...

On the other hand the pbl is obviously always present for the old heavy goods vehicles ...

And on cars with engines Hdi Cdi direct injection high pressure, are there still all emissions (including the famous particles and benzopyrenes)? very dangerous and causing cancer.

Are the countries mentioned, including Japan, still anti-diesel while France is more and more?
