Keep taking people for idiots, that's perfect. Do not change anything.

on the contrary, I do zetetics, and the real one: I take people seriously.
If you say that the Maldives are reducing the area, please give us a reduction figure for 30 years for example.

I did some quick research, I found a reference from 2001 which speaks of an area of 297 km ^ 2

https://www.persee.fr/doc/caoum_0373-58 ... 4_213_3792

but the more recent wikipedia reference gives ... 298 km ^ 2, one more.

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maldives

An explanation ?

Note in the 2001 reference
"The reef ring of the atolls was built by vertical growth during the phase of rapid post-glacial rise in sea level, between 6000 and 3000 BP (BC), at an average rate of 65 cm per century. "

The current rate is 3mm per year or 30 cm per century.

In the Maldives as in Kiribati, one "experiences the catastrophe in slow motion", writes the author Julien Blanc-Gras, who published Paradis (before liquidation) after having gone to Kiribati (ed. Au Diable Vauvert). Today, more than thirty islets of Kiribati have already disappeared below sea level.

(2016, already)

Ps: Yes, I know, Kiribati are not Maldives.

it's the same for kiribati

your "islands" are just uninhabited sandbanks that fluctuate with the currents, nothing unusual.

You read correctly I hope that the atolls rose dynamically with the sea level at an average rate of 65 cm / century, and sometimes higher. Obviously these were not columns perched 100 m high 10 years ago, and which would just be flush with the surface of the sea now! these are dynamic systems that adjust to variations in water levels.

Magnificent, there is no rise in water, but rise in islets. Those who disappear is normal. Those who appear, it's normal too. And hop, how we evade reality by focusing on mirages. In the Maldives, by the way, we build dikes everywhere for fun, to give the job to the workers. : roll:
The most magical (inept) sentence being this: "These are dynamic systems that adjust to variations in water level."

no, to protect luxury hotels for tourists who should never have been built on these fragile areas ... and be reimbursed by the international community crying that it is because of RC !!
The Maldivians are not stupid what you think, in addition they manage to pass a retrograde and violent Islamist regime like a poor victim of the West that must be compensated. Hat the artists.

your geological materials, it's called coral, and it has nothing to do with continental drift (more precisely, it moves with it).

There are no "solid areas" on coral atolls whose highest point is less than 2m50 ... Try again.

I don't understand your remark, how does that contradict what I say?
obviously that the atoll being built by accumulation of coral debris by the wind and from time to time big waves or storms which temporarily submerge them leaving debris, it cannot be very high above the sea - but nevertheless he goes up with it.

Maldives is not likely to mount masses since the corals burst ...
I know that you do not understand what is happening on this planet, you demonstrate it day after day. : Mrgreen:
For my part, finished answering you.

unfortunately, it is still a legend. There have been a few bleaching episodes in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, but they have seen others ....
