The Allergy of Global Warming (by H. Kempf)

A fine example of "scientist" collusion and lobbying, by Hervé Kempf, Le Monde.

Too bad that pb2488 is no longer there to defend this kind of practices ... it would have spiced (poison?) The debate that will follow ...

Science is ashamed

Analysts who observe the oligarchic drift of democracy easily demonstrate the hybridization between political leaders, economic leaders and media operators. This phenomenon leads to what an agreed language calls "disaffection with the elites". But their view is too short: they forget that science - austere instrument of knowledge, fearless adventurer in the mysteries of the cosmos, sacred temple of truth - can also be mobilized by circles of power.

Now we learn the appalling news that here is: the honorable Institut de France, founded in 1795, including the Académie des sciences and the Académie française, has agreed to host a foundation created by a retired scientist who has multiplied lies , manipulation of graphs and false quotes - insulting in addition his colleagues climatologists, formerly designated as constituting a "mafia". Said lies, manipulations and errors are fully documented, and have given rise to several indignant denials from the wrongly cited scientists. Nothing helped.

Claude Allègre keeps the stage open in the media and the unaltered trust of his friends. And now he is launching, under the prestigious label of the Institut de France, the Fondation Ecologie d'avenir. It is about "developing a positive ecology", an "ecology which can be the engine of a new growth", by associating "men and women belonging to the academic world as well as that of the company" . So that things are clear, Claude Allègre specifies on the site of the new organization that "this symbiosis with the academic world is at the very heart of the foundation".

Thus, in the orientation committee of the new Foundation, representatives of companies Limagrain, PSA Peugeot or Schlumberger. There are also personalities of conservative tendency as Jean-Claude Casanova, director of the magazine Comment, Jean-Marie Colombani, former director of the World or Luc Ferry, ex-absentee professor. Let us be clear: that intellectuals associate with companies to promote their ideology under the guise of science is only a classic lobby game.

But that the very respectable Institute of France, which should have the heart to defend the scientific integrity behind this approach is however quite scandalous.

Claude Allégre is harmful, even toxic and will make us even more behind the Germans, who have taken the right direction, without nuclear, to become specialists in renewable, the only real solution for the future.

It will promote the nuclear (reduction CO2, with the criminal lie of 200milliSieverts / an undocumented !!), this until a Fukushima-Chernobyl in France, evacuating an entire area in perpetuity, such as the Rhone Valley, or the Rhine, or elsewhere, inevitable sooner or later in France, as men and our supermans can not be infallible forever!

The following or rather the beginning: http://www.terraeco.net/L-Institut-de-F ... e-la,19440

The Institut de France is giving up the Allègre foundation on the sly

Inquiry - It's happened at the dawn of summer. Almost nobody notices it. The Institut de France dubbed the 17 June the foundation Ecology for the future of Claude Allègre. Scandalous for many scientists.

Many Academicians feared such sponsorship. They did not have a say. As the regulation allows, it is the central administrative commission which sits representatives of the 5 academies that has ruled. The foundation Ecology for the future of Claude Allègre received the recognition of the Institute of France the 17 June. Hervé Le Treut, Edouard Brezin, Ghislain de Marsilly, none of the academicians contacted were aware before the end of September. Many have learned with the publication of a ticket Hervé Kempf in The World September 27.

"I have not been informed informally or officially, confirms Ghislain de Marsilly, hydrologist. To my knowledge the Academy of Sciences has not been consulted, it is a pure decision of the Institute. But it is not so much this silence that crumples the academician. "It's on the bottom that I find it scandalous. That the Institute endorse the creation of a foundation for the environment under the aegis of Claude Allègre, a man who has vilified, dragged in the mud the scientists shamelessly ... The image of the Institute comes out tarnished An indignation shared by a climatologist: "The arms fall to me. That in the twenty-first century, a great scientist certainly, but above all a clever man ready for all the blows and to narrate anything to be so endorsed by the Institut de France can only contribute to undermine the confidence granted to our institutions. I have a real frustration with the conviction capacity of this pathological liar ... "
Legitimate rejection or excommunication?

According to them, no doubt, the Institute should have closed the doors violently in the face of Mr. Allegre. For Albert Fehr, on the contrary, Nobel physicist and member of the guidance council of Ecologie d'avenir, the ban would have been a mistake: "We must not excommunicate people because they said this or that. We are not in the period of the Inquisition or under a Soviet regime ... If we do not agree with Allègre, we must discuss. "It's true that the worst thing for our community is to give the impression that we are censors, that we refuse the position of each other. We can have doubts about what the foundation will do, we may be surprised when the Institute is adobe but to go beyond ... we must be careful, "concedes Hervé Le Treut, climatologist.

Claude Allègre, he can be satisfied with this prestigious support, also widely promoted on the website of its foundation. "The Institut de France is not anything like a house. If Allègre had made an association 1901, it would have been less credible, "says Ghislain de Marsily. A nice deposit, a nice guarantee of resources too. Because the foundations hosted by the institute can promise generous individuals a tax reduction of 66% of the amount of their donation or 60% for corporate sponsors.
The climate non grata

But in an attempt to calm the ardor, the Institute has put in its dubbing a condition: to silence on the climate issue. "It's part of the agreement with the Institut de France and it's part of the statutes," confirms Laurent Chambenoît of Ecologie d'avenir. There are many other topics to discuss. The climate has become a political issue. And if we started to talk about it, some members of the orientation council would resign. This would probably be the case of Albert Fehr. "Allègre, I've known him for a long time and I disagree with him about climate issues. But I agree with his idea of finding solutions to the problem of the planet through science. "

According to its website, the foundation should be a place of exchange between "scientists, economists, humanists and the world of business and technological innovation. What does it promise to end alarmist positions and propose concrete technological solutions to current environmental problems? So useful the foundation? "I do not know what she will say, what she will want or be able to do, how it will interfere in the debate," confides, careful, Hervé Le Treut. "This collision between industry, media and scientists is not intended to overcome barriers, it will be a lobby space," says the climatologist interviewed.
