We do not know.
Everything will depend on the results of the study, as in medicine, the risks must be negligible compared to the benefits.

As Janco said, The rise in temperature, that of the waters is inexorable and we should not rely on carbon sinks after a certain stage.
If we have the possibility of reducing the sunshine of the earth in general, without additional pollution and without collateral damage, the part on the climate is won.
For the moment the American and Chinese geoengineering are just selfish, since they displace the problem

We know your tune .... therefore, from where it was ideological, my post, since you know what the hell? How can we then write "All low energy and well controlled solutions are good to take" when we do not know anything? Who is in the ideology, you, the proselytizing scientist, or I asking a legitimate question that no one can answer?

I would respond with "throw shit in the air", your usual magic words.

Those there had the same reaction https://factuel.afp.com/non-bill-gates- ... -le-soleil

Calcium carbonate will mostly fall into the sea or it will end up in a carbon sink
"The SCoPEx experiment is on such a small scale - we are talking about a few kilograms - that it is absolutely risk-free. Whatever type of aerosols we inject", assures AFP Olivier Boucher, climatologist at the Parisian institute for research in environmental science Pierre-Simon Laplace.

For the solar radiation control technique, the comparison is often made with volcanoes.

“Volcanoes mainly emit ash which has no real impact (neither on the climate nor on the ozone layer) and sulfur dioxide which turns into sulfuric acid in the stratosphere. It is these aerosols of sulfuric acid which promotes certain chemical reactions which destroy - a little - ozone ", explains Olivier Boucher, contacted by AFP. "Harvard would like to test the hypothesis that an aerosol of calcium carbonate destroys the ozone layer less than an aerosol of sulfuric acid, if at all."

This aerosol dispersion technique is one of the avenues considered by "geoengineering", a field of research which also studies, for example, carbon capture and storage.

Throwing shit in the atmosphere is fashionable. Look what the Chinese are up to. After that it is sure that the calcium carbonate, it is without danger. The shit comes from the whole chain that sends CaCO3 into the atmosphere. : Mrgreen:

Can't you see the difference between what the Chinese are doing by diverting the rain for their benefit and a project benefiting the whole earth?

Will not be enough for what?
There is no need to counter CO2, on the basis of models that are made to say anything, and in addition, the idea is illusory, we cannot in practice.
We are still far from the CO2 levels that there were on earth in the past. We will adapt without problem, and all the more easily since the forecasts are likely to be wrong, like all those we have already had so far.

Climate: are those who want to save us by acting on the stratosphere crazy?

Can “geoengineering” counter global warming? This is the bet of some researchers and a few billionaires who dream of reducing solar radiation or removing CO2 from the atmosphere. But our sky would then risk resembling that of Munch's painting “The Scream”. Our investigation.

Paid item ... shame ...

Happy Tophe! So2 !!!! With a little bowl and the rains which are announced on Friday we could have sulfuric acid which falls on our face, brilliant !!! : Mrgreen: 8)
