Small practical case to save my electricity and pollute less.
Here are the consumption variation factors explained by RTE
http://www.rte-france.com/htm/fr/activi ... mation.jsp
For my little practical case, I remember that:
* do not heat electric (well, I suspected a little)
* on weeknights around 19 p.m., do not rush to turn on the TV, the washing machine ...
* on winter weekdays when it is very cold, I must moderate my consumption
EDF also explains to me, through its tariffs, that electricity during peak periods is much more expensive
http://particuliers.edf.fr/rubrique112.html
For my practical case, I retain that
* by taking Tempo, I pay half the electricity for 300 days a year (Blue) and a little cheaper for 43 days (White)
* I can know the color of the day by email, no need to pay 300 to 800 Eur
Here http://particuliers.edf.fr/article488.html
Personal conclusion:
* I do not heat myself with electric
* on red days, I receive an email telling me that it is red
I don't turn on my washing machine and other devices that can wait
I put on a sweater
* if I ever have electric heating, that day, if possible I heat myself with additional energy
* I light up less
Why not a little evening by the fire with candles?
econological strategy of power consumption
Hello
Other country other customs, Here he encourages us to heat electric, even many houses have no chimney, he even sells electric fireplaces.
There are more electric heated houses than oil.
hydroquebec even encouraged and gave a preferential rate to those who use dual-energy, that is to say when the temperature drops (-10 or -7 I think?) you have to have another heating system either oil or gas natural that embarks.
The electrical problem is the peak demand in winter.
Like most of our electricity (in Quebec) and made hydraulic, it is not very polluting to use this energy.
Instead of stopping the big megawatt steelworks, aluminum smelter factories, in summer, for the repairs of the holidays, they have to stop them in winter, there will be no more problem for the domestic worker!
it is not the same for the rest of Canada, in Anrador several nuclear and coal power plants, the same in the west, it burns their oil.
