The reconstruction of a slave ship in Nantes

by jeanne » 08/02/07, 15:45

Hello,

In the article from West France posted in the message "spirulina a small blue algae in Mali", the journalist quickly addresses a project to reconstruct a slave ship. (see https://www.econologie.com/forums/la-spiruli ... t3082.html )

Here is an article for people who want to know a little more.

Good reading

The reconstruction of a slave ship, a citizen project

The Métisse association in Nantes, born 13 years ago, has 250 members, organizes workshops in African dance, Capoeira, salsa and a music festival "history of the future".
After 7 years of reflection on the “educational boat” project, the association is launching this project on an international scale.
The educational boat will be the reconstruction of the slave trader's boat called "Aurore".

This project was presented to the President of the French Republic and is supported by UNESCO as well as by the Committee for the Memory of Slavery.
Several French cities also support the project.

It will be a living museum where young and old can learn the history of the triangular trade, the slave trade and open your eyes to today's slavery.
6 months a year the boat will sail to reach African, American or European ports. This mobile museum will meet a very diverse population.

Partnerships will be created with cities, schools, associations to give this project a human dimension.
Each small or large association can make a contribution to the building,
each elementary or higher school can play a role
All cities, communities that will support the project will be handed the torch of fraternity

This mobile museum will meet a very diverse population.

This boat will be a unique educational tool to learn the history of its city from its ancestors.

This reconstruction will be in the city of Nantes a symbol of tolerance, respect and fraternity.

The works are scheduled to start in mid 2008 and will last 5 years.

And do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in the educational boat.

Very good initiative, especially as it is a sailing boat.

But will we restore the atmosphere and the smell ??? : Evil:

The poor slaves were piled up horizontally, sorted like sardines, in between decks where they could barely stand up and fell like flies: we considered that when half of the cargo arrived in the Americas, we could be happy!

It is planned to put mannequins representing slaves (different positions in which slaves lived)

There will also be all the sensory environment (odor, noise ...).

I hope I answer your question.

I'm not going to say "great", that would be inappropriate!

It is not a bad thing to show:

1) in what discomfort our predecessor could live.
2) what they could do to their fellow men (well .....)

Pantone engine and boat pedagogical project ..

by jeanne » 14/06/07, 18:26

How about combining the pantone engine with the educational boat project?
What do you think ?
Can a boat 35 meters long operate with this type of engine?

(I should point out that the construction phase has not started, we are currently publicizing the project at the international level.)

I await your reactions and opinions ...

not much answer on this forum of a site "created in 2003 (following research on the Pantone engine)"
maybe we should ask the question directly to Mr. Paul Pantone himself ( http://geet-pantone.com/ - geet@xmission.net )? obviously this gentleman has serious problems with the law concerning his invention which is obviously not yet fully developed (?) ... note that the last update of his site dates a little This WebPage was Updated On : 02/02/2006 ... business to follow!
But what exactly does the French naval architect Ribadeau Dumas think?

infos: from April 14 you can visit the interior of the Hermione in Rochefort for the modest sum of 15 euros http://www.hermione.com/francais/downlo ... ne2007.pdf
launch scheduled for 2011: note this date in our calpins ... matter to follow very closely!

Uh, I dedicate myself to meet newcomers ...
1) There has never been a "Pantone engine". Paul Pantone has proposed on the Net a device to treat fuel at the intake and thus improve the operation of existing engines.
2) A device derived from the Pantone system, water doping, makes it possible to reduce the consumption and pollution of internal combustion engines, in particular diesel.
3) Many DIY enthusiasts (there are some on this site) have equipped their vehicles and, through their research, are helping to improve this assembly and better understand its operation.
4) It would indeed be interesting to equip a boat engine with this device which is not heavy and does not take up much space.

In fact, I think if you want to have answers on this specific subject, it is better that you create another thread on the forum Pantone.
The great Pantone gurus who officiate on this site do not always look at the subjects which pass on the others forums...

Otherwise, if you want more information on the Pantone, you can check out the new Pantone Econology Wiki
