What gas price do you have?

by phil59 » 12/11/23, 21:59

These are my current conditions, at total energies...

I'm not married to them, do you have anything better? and is this a reliable price?

For me it's a blue bottle refilled at the GPLL auto pumps... Less than one euro per liter. or around €18 for a 13kg refill : Cheesy: : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

Idem.
For around €30 or €40 in total for the type 510 adapter and the 511 regulator from which the anti-return device must be removed (a simple joint with an Allen key).
For old bottles it's just the adapter and in addition the regulator for Calypso (much easier to handle on the stairs).
I don't use it because I don't have any gas left, it's for dad and brother.

It's not practical, for real heating consumption, and what's more, it's banned in France, although this hasn't changed since 2000, when I started driving on LPG at the time.

Newly married a very long time ago, 11/07/1998 (a hell of a weekend the next day, France was world football champion) we had an auxiliary gas heater with infrared radiation. It wasn't permanent, we were running everywhere so never there for a small apartment.
And the 13 kg bottle was the best.
It was the time when we warmed up in bed three times a day : Mrgreen:
And in Ardèche in winter, every other time, in the afternoon you're in a t-shirt.
It was forbidden to methanize, the state wanted to impose meters for personal installations because of the TIPP if I remember correctly.
The times are changing...

This is mainly for security reasons, but the problem is not there.

Sometimes one, 2, 3 bottles would not be enough.

You mean that we are too stupid in France and that abroad they are more intelligent. Since it's allowed there.

For motorhomes I don't know of any that only work with one bottle.
It's a mobile home with 4 wheels and a motor.

And there are gas bottles much larger than 13 kg but you need to have played rugby to move them

https://www.francegazliquides.fr/energie-butane-propane/industrie-et-distribution/bouteilles/

A 13 kg bottle is around 180 kWh, or around €17 for town gas, approximately.

Not much interest in heating, filling with LPG, or maybe in Belgium, 20 years ago, LPG cost almost nothing.

At the time, working near Belgium, I stocked up there, around 80L...

Not that much.

13 kg at around €18 per recharge, that’s around €100/MWh th or 10 c€/kWh th , for around 180 kWh th.

To compare with electricity, soon 24 c€/kWhe for induction hobs, unless you can self-consume photovoltaics.
And again, only on days when there is sunshine.
It will then be more like 8 to 10 c€/kWhe, but only at midday: in the morning and evening, for coffee, tea or herbal tea,... it will be full price!

When we pay the electricity bill, we don't differentiate between the different uses, whereas we feel a gas bottle passing by.

PS: as for town gas (natural gas), it increased by around 4 c€/kWh th during the previous decade at 7 or 8, and is expected to stay there.
This will facilitate the generalization of biomethane, which has great difficulty not exceeding 10 c€/kWh th , cost of production.
