The miracle of life on my chair (my cat gives birth)

by Christophe » 20/05/16, 10:21

Yesterday my little Chateline (who is not even 1 year old) put down 4 little kittens ... on my office chair!

She is used to getting behind me when I work, and once the "thing" started I didn't dare to move it (it's a first for me too ...) ... so everything is fine. is done on the chair.

I had a good feeling that she wanted to say something to me yesterday morning and I thought that it was soon but not so quickly. I had prepared a case for her with towels but she preferred the armchair ...

Here are some photos, sensitive souls to abstain ...

And a litter of 4 kittens! A !! 3 grisous and 1 noirot ... Like the ugly duckling : Cheesy:

So 4 kittens to give in 2 to 3 months ... and a visit to the vet for the mother!

If you have advice for the future, I listen to you ... for example, I also have a 10 year old (neutered) tomcat: is there a risk for the little ones if I bring him in?

The thank you box

ps: it does not prevent with a cat it happens all the same much more easily and quickly than with a woman !! : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

Good the tomcat came back alone ... he took advantage of going to see the mail !!

He did not attack the little ones but growled when I showed them to him by taking him in my arms!
So be careful all the same!

In general (there are exceptions), adults do not attack babies.

But in a few months, it may be war in the house (including with the mother or even between two brothers).

Yes in general ... there I would rather warn than find a kitten in the stomach of the tomcat!

For the war, that yes ... already that the 2 big did not stop bickering by the bellicose initiative of the female (it was more of the game but still, the big one often growled ... surely the difference of age!)

She was much calmer about this the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy ...

I recommend sterilization (for the Chateline eh!). : Mrgreen:
I have a kitten and after 5-6 litters in a row it gets harder and harder to find trustworthy people to take care of the little ones.
In addition it is a heart wrench to give them! :(

Oh yeah! Hence the appointment at the vet of my 1st message ...

In fact it was planned from the start but it caught me short: I did not think that at less than 6 months it would fall in blister ... and in fact I did not really notice its 1st heats .. .

Well it's not that bad, it's a new life experience for me : Cheesy:

Take pictures, every day it changes very quickly and the kittens become more and more adorable ...
The "inconveniences" will come when they start to visit the house, we follow them ... :|

When my dog gave birth (10 puppies), when the kids were about 10 days old, I set up a "kennel" for them outside (in June it is hot).
It is much, much easier to manage the cleanliness of the house ....

This "motherhood" was a unique experience. Follow these births, these tragedies (2 dead puppies), his joys this life these laughs .... and
then these sentences when they are given between 2 and 3 months ....

Thanks for the Flytox advice!

Your puppies are adorable :) 10 suddenly ???? The cow!!

Yes it was planned ... for the moment, at 2 days, not much "photographable" evolution ...

On the other hand I noticed that the kittens were already dreaming: a phase of paradoxical sleep where the ears and the body move, a bit like spasms!

The little ones are doing well ... they evolve at an incredible speed!
I think I've heard bickering before!

It promises! : Mrgreen:
