Finally, targeted ... Let's not exaggerate.

As I just wrote: I understand the logic that advertising finances the existence of the site. And I accept it.

Targeting, we can talk about it: I have just seen a pub go by for electric heating (I have a pellet stove and fights electricity with electricity and its peaks consumption), for diesel (I run LPG) , and for gas tank ... Just there, connecting me.

So this argument does not convince me. But in my weekly, I have ads for cars that do not make me dream, perfumes (but I have more ambition on the side of spoule luxury), fashion (for more than 30 years, I wear the same jeans - I mean the same model) and what do I know ... sometimes banks ...

I prefer to say that I accept as participation to a model that I use ...

Yes. So a member sees your message, as long as it is not connected. We are not totally spared.

I just said we saw your alert, as long as I did not disable ABP. You seemed to say that non-members were spared.

That's how I was alerted. And that I dug this question of AdBlock.

A member not connected is necessarily considered as a non member ... so a visitor ...

I summarize:
a) The message is displayed ONLY if you are using an Adblock

b) If you are logged in as a member the message does not appear

c) It can still appear if you are a member NOT connected (thus considered a visitor ... temporarily) AND IF your adblock is still active

Hi,
I installed adblock to avoid the ads at the beginning of youtube videos, sometimes very long (tired of the ads of cars)

Small tutorial for Chrome, little different on other browsers.
To disable adblock, click on the logo to the right of the address bar

After having clicked on "do not block anything on the pages of this domain" appears this window:
adblock2.jpg

Then on "exclude" ?? Then the hand becomes a thumb:

Thank you izentrop!

On Firefox it is the Adblock Plus extension, you have to click there:
Adblock_disable.gif
Adblock_desactiver.gif (8.24 Kio) Viewed 19419 times

On Internet Explorer (Adblock Plus also)

I did not find unblocking by domain (not available ???) we can only disable it completely, tools tab -> manage additional modules:

Adblock_IE_disable.gif
Adblock_IE_desactiver.gif (30.75 Kio) Viewed 19419 times

Edit: ah if the icon is in the status bar (disabled when I searched):
Adblock_IE_disable2.gif
Adblock_IE_desactiver2.gif (3.83 Kio) Viewed 19417 times

And funny thing, IE says that Adblock Plus slows down navigation (while one of Adblock's basic argument is to speed it up! Mouahaha ...):

Here. That's it.

And that's what alerted me first. Because I had not followed this thread ...

And allowed to check that my AdBlock was deactivated then.

We end up agreeing.

Maybe not so contradictory?
*

Adblock slows down the opening of a few seconds. The time to go through customs, in a way.

But then, since there will not be any time incrustations, it must speed up navigation in the same window or tab. Once in the country, we walk more freely ...
