I am writing to you simply to bring you my solidarity on your position (see text below) on the use of bio fuel which goes in the direction (common sense), that of the interest of all for a better quality of life without taking into account corporate interests that poison and immobilize our country.

"The prefect of Lot-et-Garonne opposes the decision of the Community of communes of Villeneuvois (CCV) to operate since October with pure vegetable oil (HVP) ten trucks for household waste collection.


The prefect stresses that "national regulations prohibit the use of pure vegetable oils for fueling outside the agricultural world" (article 265 ter of the customs code). If the Community regulations authorize it, he adds, "it does not impose it on the Member States which remain free to choose the biofuels which they wish to favor in order to achieve the objective of incorporating biofuels in the field of transport. Last October, for the first time in France, the CCV, which brings together ten municipalities under the chairmanship of the socialist mayor of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Jérôme Cahuzac, put into service ten trucks operating at 30% with pure vegetable oil (HVP) based on sunflower. For the past four months, four trucks have even operated at 100% HVP. To do this, an agreement was signed with the French Institute of Pure Vegetable Oils (IFHVP) in Agen, for a supply of fuel at 0,79 euros.
While the government has set itself the objective of incorporating biofuels into petrol up to 5,75% by 2008, 7% by 2010 and 10% by 2015, in order to putting France at the forefront in the European Union, Jérôme Cahuzac is surprised.
"The government is hypocritical. There is the appearance, the speech in favor of the development of biofuels, and then there is the reality on the ground. There is an inconsistency between seeing a minister driving 200 meters behind the wheel of an experimental car driving on E85 and asking a prefect to prosecute us, "he told Reuters.
The Minister Delegate for Industry François Loos kicked off last Thursday the first experiment conducted by the Marne General Council of "flex-fuel" vehicles running on E85, a fuel composed of 85% d ethanol, for which the government promises in 2010 a network of "green" pumps. For Jérôme Cahuzac, this is the issue of Tuesday's hearing. "The question is legal. The main question is whether the European directive (2003/30 / EEC) has direct effect and, if not, what possibilities to apply it," he said. -he indicates. Are really scared that this story of bio-fuel starts too early and that they sell less petroleum fuel ..... it is absolutely incredible to dare to show yourself at driving a flex car (Breton Minister of the Economy ...) and at the same time prohibiting the use of organic fuels.
