Problem with IE

by Christophe » 10/01/06, 17:02

The site (not the forums ) encounters access problems from Internet Explorer for reasons for the moment undetermined (may be work at the host) while it is fully accessible with other explorers.

On IE, the site loads but nothing is displayed for 30 seconds to 1 minute. It is very strange and personally I have never seen it ... hoping that it will recover quickly ...

An attack??

by jean63 » 10/01/06, 17:44

Maybe a Martian attack or a bird flu virus hanging around there ?.

Only when he has brought down the last tree, the last river contaminated, the last fish caught that man will realize that money is not edible (Indian MOHAWK).

My dear Rulian ...

I have this fucking FF 1.5 which eats me 200 MB of ram from 5 windows / session open for an indefinite reason and I keep IE for certain site incompatible with FF and test econo from time to time (yesterday for example)!

Anyway explain to me how to fire it ... except by hacking the windows registry it's not possible!

Then sorry to disappoint you but the traffic analysis shows that 80% of econo visitors are still on IE ...

Well, you're the only one with this resource problem with Firefox. I have an old Celeron 750 with 320 MB of Ram, I run XP + Firefox (all the tabs wanted) + the Mule + EasyPhp + Winamp + a text editor + firewall, all that without problems.

So clearly the problem does not come from Firefox 1.5 but rather from your PC. Worse still there is 1.0.7 which is very good.

As for the sites not compatible with Firefox, it is that they do not respect the W3C standards. It is with webmasters that we must complain about having optimized their site for microsoft and not for recognized standards ... Anyway the problem remains VERY rare.

After I did not say that you had to be ashamed but I never understood why you went on OOo to abandon MS Office but that you do not want to switch to Mozilla ... However OOo is much more hassle than Mozilla in the 'together...

And it's true that we can't fire IE, nor WMediaPlayer either :x . But we can still fire a max of icon to try to forget it ...
