Long hair is contraindicated when approaching a rotary tool, as is the case with handles or any piece of clothing likely to get caught in the machine and drag its user (this is the effect "Grace Kelly ") : Wink: ...
I personally used this kind of gear tractor version and it is very dangerous: a pant bottom that floats form rope with rotation and the leg is torn off ...:( You should know that it is a screw which "sucks" the piece of wood as soon as it touches the tip of the cone. There is also a risk of burns, because the screw heats up a lot due to friction. Another risk is the rotation of the log around the axis which hits the operator violently; it can be limited by an arrangement of the device (anti-swivel bar or in the short log version shown, lower table) ...
