Europe down?

by democrate » 02/04/06, 13:02

Can Europe one day become like the USA (a nation of
federation of states)?

The Americans created a nation from a conquest on a
other people, the Indians. The only past, the only story that
existed at the time was that of the Indians. They created a
constitution, identity, culture and an American nation of
it is very different from European countries which have a
uncommon history and past. In the USA, there are very few
difference between an American from California and a
American from New York: these people feel American,
because they know how to belong to a nation, to a culture. In Europe, it
there is a big difference between a European from France
and a European from Austria or Sweden (not to mention the
linguistic problem). There is indeed a cultural link which is that
of Western culture, but it would also be necessary among
European peoples that a European feeling is born (currently
there exists for each European nation a national feeling, for a
French is to belong to the French nation, for an Italian
feeling of belonging to the Italian nation ect ... although at
new generations this feeling of belonging to a nation
seems less and less present.). Europe cannot therefore be
built like the USA (a federation of states) By cons
Europe is made up of democracies, this is the link between
Europeans to use and of course to be a country
European. What is also missing in today's Europe so that it
be viable?

Common rules:

- In environmental protection: rules for the protection of
the European ecosystem (air, land, sea).

1) To replace 50 to 70% the consumption of fossil energy (the
petroleum) in Europe by natural energies: biofuels,
biomass, wind turbines, solar ...

2) To combat global warming, pollution and
allow European democracies to have real
energy independence.

- In research: creation of a pole (grouping of the best
European researchers for specific research and
specialized) European research, which will not prevent
to always have research at the national level.

- For the reception of non-European foreigners to fight
illegal immigration and regulated normal immigration.

- In taxation:

1) Same tax rules for all countries of the European Union,
to avoid relocation of companies and also to
stop unfair competition between European countries that have
not the same charges and production costs. Example: a fruit
coming from a European country where payroll taxes are less
will always be cheaper to produce than another country
European or lower payroll taxes, which generates a
distorted and unequal competition between European countries or
wages and social protection are pulled down. This
egalitarian taxation would avoid relocation and protect
national economies.

- Establishment of European customs rules or other system
regulator (quota) to protect industries and the market
European interior of the slippages of economic globalization.
Also a control of the European central bank by the
democracies of the european union should be done (knowing that
even in the USA the central bank is controlled by the government in
place, which makes it possible to make a real economic policy).
democratic management of the European central bank would allow the
expenditure control and a real aid policy for
business creations (as well as aid to those in difficulty)
for the countries of the European Union.

- In foreign policy in the event of a serious global crisis (for
avoid a disagreement between European democracies as we have been able
see for the war in Iraq).

- Also the European democracies should come together to
provide a framework for the creation of a European language over 10 years.
This language would allow Europeans to understand each other better without
for that lose their languages and their cultural identities
national. European language could be mandatory at the level
exchanges for MEPs and also a
2nd language learning could do this at school level
primary for children.

- At the level of the defense of Europe:

1) NATO should be replaced by a European army ... This
NATO has become useless because it was created to respond to
the aggression of a Soviet army and the Warsaw Pact. The USSR
no longer existing NATO no longer has a raison d'être, moreover being
controlled by the USA it cannot serve the European nations in
case of problem that with the agreement of the USA, which does not allow in
Europe to have real independence in terms of its defense.
This army would not prevent European countries from retaining their
national armies (land, navy, air) as they currently are
desire. This army (land, air, navy) would therefore have a function
self-defense in the event of war, and intervention and support
for major natural disasters and ecological disasters.
It could also include a European border guard
(surveillance of the borders between Europe and countries not
of the European community), which would operate in cooperation with
national customs.

At the level of the reception of new countries in the union, logically
Europe is made up of European countries. The debate over the entry of the
Turkey in Europe should not arise: it would be like doing
re-enter Israel, Morocco or even Libya into the European Union.
Europe does not have a hegemonic vocation culturally and
economically to spread to the rest of the world or even to encompass
country of oriental culture. It is true that when we see the
media reports in major cities like Istanbul and
Ankara its inhabitants seem to live in a very European way
but be aware that this is only a tiny part of
the Turkish population (approximately 10% to 20% of the population on
approximately 70 to 80 million inhabitants). In short, if one day a
community or union (like Europe) of eastern countries (countries
Arabs, countries of the near and middle east as well as countries of Africa
north) is formed, I think Turkey will have more of a place there than
in the European Union. Another more serious problem: Turkey is
far from giving democratic counterparts, it is a
façade democracy. Indeed at the levels of egalitarian rights
between women and men, mostly women in Turkey
is considered inferior to humans, or even nothing
everything (many husbands have the right to life and death over their
women and girls), torture is commonly practiced in its
prisons, as well as arbitrary arrests and freedom
expression is very limited. Turkey also did not recognize
the Armenian genocide which for a country claiming to be democratic
unacceptable. Turkey can very well evolve towards more than
democracy and equality without becoming a country of union
European, because if so the majority (and not the minority)
Turks will be forced to lose their
oriental culture so that it becomes European culture.
They will really have to make a secular society or Islam will have
no more political power, because if it is not made of parties
fundamentalist religious policies (linked to radical Islam) exist
and could win the Turkish national elections a
day ... Europe cannot afford to have a republic
Islamic are healthy (it's incompatible with the values that make
the base of the democratic societies composing it, which are the
separation of religion and the existing state). This problem
moreover concerns all Muslim countries because a democracy does not
can be conceived without equality and secularism. In a society
truly democratic no religion has more rights than a
other, a religion also cannot deal with the sphere
political and cannot regulate people's lives (practicing this
religion) that in a private capacity (and still that it is done in agreement
with the laws that are in force in this democracy). The countries
Muslims therefore have to reflect on their own religion, it is up to
say put once and for all their religious extremists
excluding games. In France at the Catholic level there was the
separation of church and state. It is true that in Europe there are
a religious state which is the Vatican but it is not part of
European Union, the only adaptation that has been made is to
level of its currency, moreover this state has no function
Politics. Democracy and radical Islam are incompatible (as
all forms of religious extremists, by the way
Islamic or others). It is not for democracy to adapt to
Islam is Islam which must adapt to democracy. Also
to combat Putin's Russian nationalism, the integration of
Ukraine in Europe is more urgent.

In conclusion:
Europe can only be a union of democracies with rules
municipalities that would allow a viable, non-competitive system
between countries that would compose it. At the level of its enlargement this
is not Europe that should spread to the rest of the world or even
encompass the countries of eastern cultures this is the system of society
democracy of equal rights and duties which must extend to the world
and other cultures. This Europe of common rules would be neither
a Europe of nations (borders, currencies ect… separate) which
is no longer applicable. Nor a federal Europe, like the
model of the American federation of states, which is also
not applicable in Europe because of the too great difference
cultural and linguistic.

They knew the laws and the British system well ... Thanks to the distance, they formed a country ...

I disagree with this statement :!:
Do you know that the Americans passed a law that of the "melting pot" if my memory is correct, so that English is the only official language in the USA :?:
In the Los Angeles area, 90% of the population speaks Spanish ...
In the states close to Canada, in the 1900s many Quebecers went to factories ... The schools were French and the services. They were abolished by law :!:
The French majority had to take its hole :!: This with the blessing of the clergy ....

There is as much difference between people from the eastern states of the USA and those from the west coast, as there are between the small countries of Europe ...
The USA is far from being a homogeneous country as you think ... I would rather say that the pot can jump !!! At one point the blacks rebelled ... The Rodney King story ... The USA almost lost control and ended up in a civil war ...
The war in Iraq has divided the American people from the start! Like the Viet Nam War before it ... Citizens cross into Canada rather than fight against their government ...

Those who do not think like Bush, remain silent, but I think that they are very numerous ... If the economy declines again, there will be other turbulences ..... :!: :!: :!:

Certain northern states seem to have more in common with Quebec than with certain southern states ... We are experiencing the same frustrations with a centralizing government ...

Do not forget that the USA is made entirely by immigrants and by black slaves who had to be integrated, despite the rejection of a white minority ... : Lol: : Lol: :P

What made the basic wealth of the USA, slavery ... will one day become a considerable weight .... When a minority claims their rights and that they are reimbursed what they are due :!: :!: : Lol:
The invoice will be salty ....

Do not look at the USA as a homogeneous society, it is a false image of government propaganda, who would like it to be so :!: : Evil: : Evil: : Evil:

By signing free trade treaties, states have lost the right to block goods by setting quotas ... Canada has been fighting for at least 10 years on pork and lumber. The USA has imposed quotas on products supposedly free to move at market prices ... Americans play by the rules as long as it doesn't hurt THEIR economy. If they are disadvantaged in a transaction, they will use all means to block the goods ... I have personally seen refuse and return a truck of pork. The pieces were cups packed in 22kg cartons. A box on a pallet was torn during loading. The whole lot has been returned ...

When we talk about market regulator, we have to look at the side of the World Trade Organization….
_______

Created in 1995, the World Trade Organization, based in Geneva, is the only international organization governing world trade.

It ensures that free trade agreements are respected, arbitrates disputes between governments and organizes global trade negotiations.

: Arrow: WTO rulings are final and member countries must abide by them. : Arrowl: :x

Dead end :!: :!: :!:
The Uruguay Round also resulted in an agreement giving free access to the world textile and clothing market.

1995 marks the birth of the WTO in its current form.

Its evolution goes hand in hand with a rise in protest: from the outside, on the part - in particular - of alterglobalists, but also from the inside: the governments of poor countries - in particular African - contest the system as it currently works.

The current negotiations - which started in Doha, Qatar in 2001 - relate to the opening of key markets: agricultural products, manufactured products and services.

But for the past two years, it's been deadlocked: litigation has focused on agricultural subsidies, and the chances of seeing a global agreement finalized in Hong Kong seem slim.

Finally, the President of the World Bank defended the appointment of certain personalities to positions of responsibility in the bank, in particular that of Suzanne Rich Folsom, who was appointed to take the lead in the fight against corruption.

Paul Wolfowitz noted that these appointments were all made in strict accordance with procedures.

Hello

for me the only true great democracy in the world is india (unfortunately not for long).

europe is following the etatsuniene DICTATURE.

The dictatorship of profit in the very short term; or suddenly its good if you are on the good side of the handle (it reminds me of the monarchy).
The elections no longer mean anything (electoral promises are only binding on those who believe in them).

So the only way to act is to type where it hurts: the money holder; therefore the boycott.
Forget our little personal comfort; no longer produce for multinationals, no longer consume manufactured products, live in autarky.
The system will collapse by itself.

I've been living like this for 15 years, after having been a business manager; I live better and no pressure group can have more control over me.
