Re: [one other] Humor
On April 9, 2009, during a Renault F1 Team promotional tour in Dubai, Mohammed Ben Sulayem was invited to try out a Formula 1 R28 at Dubai Autodrome. 100 meters after the start, he lost control of the single-seater which crashed into the pit wall. The car is destroyed but Ben Sulayem comes out unscathed.

Originally, it looks like a broken right rear transmission. Luckily he didn't mow down the other car...

Okay, the jerk goes head to tail all alone because he accelerates like a nag and no longer controls his vehicle, according to the sound, he always keeps the pedal to the bottom!

Re: [one other] Humor
A few years ago (I don't know how it works now), to obtain the best acceleration, the pilot was "very" assisted by the electronics which managed automatically acceleration / engine speed / tire slippage / clutch etc...and especially at the start (crucial in F1).
In this way, the driver presses a button on the steering wheel to signal that he is on the starting grid and this automatically loads the corresponding program. In racing, they never start from zero speed, so that's another acceleration program. Possibly this kind of "incident" could happen to any very experienced pilot. The program should certainly not be designed to manage all possible mechanical failures...
Moreover on the part of the video where the cars arrive towards the camera, when the F1 begins its swerve, it has the straight wheels and not turned to the right. The pilot simply doesn't have time to react when all the power only goes to one side in a fraction of a second.

Yes Guy that's what I thought: no DTC, ABS, ESC or ESP in F1...but Flytox said: a few years...
And the rules change every year too...

You can hear the F1 accelerating, then he released the throttle to accelerate again, it made the wheels spin and he spun on his own....
