Yeah it's a solution too. But copper + zinc = battery and therefore corrosion.

the advantage of glass is to leave an air gap between the hot sensor and the glass ...

I wonder ... Compared to a flat copper sensor:

- insulation behind almost identical, but the roof-sensor is less cold in the buttocks than the sensor placed on a roof (exposed to cold air) ...

- polycarbonate insulation roughly identical to that of glass

- remains the absorption by the pipes, certainly less than a tinox paint ...
