Voting Machines / Comment Citizens!

Against Voting Machines : Arrow: React Citizens! Image

I saw on TV yesterday that the city of Amiens was ready for the presidential vote, to use “voting machines”.
It gave me a stroke. I always told myself that this cannot be done in France, that we will have to react the day when….
Well no ! It settles down nicely ...
In some cities, the population contests, and the project is backing down or is suspended ...
It is according to the will of the mayor.
I ask you to be vigilant, and to react en masse, if this happens to you, because it is the beginning of the end ...
The most laughable thing is that we present it as an ecological vote, since it is paperless ...

In my youth, on the evening of the votes, I liked to go in the patenôtre atmosphere or electrified according to the stakes, of the votes.
The people knew each other a little by sight; volunteers were asked at the table; there was always a strong representativeness of PCF sympathizers who had the republican spirit ...
The manager managed to distribute political tendencies around the tables, and that was going well. And there was interest! Because behind each "skinner", there were 5 pairs of eyes which closely monitored the progress of operations ...
This is what I call a serious vote, where citizens participate.
There were ballots disputes for a brand of pen, or a torn corner, and that was it. If there was a problem later, these ballots were kept in bags of 100, available for recount.

With the voting machines, no more paper traces, bugs are always possible, and unfortunately, according to the example of the last American elections, a certain cheating, for the benefit of the dictatorship in place.

Stay alert and react with force! It's too important!

Hello
The completely electronic keyboard style voting machine that is manipulated to choose a candidate should not be tolerated, there are too many mistakes and fraud.
What has been tested here at several elections is a ballot with the candidates registered and a round to blacken this ballot then passes through a machine which detects and records the vote.
This gives the advantage that at the count 5 minutes after the close of the poll we know the results.
Now all the ballots are crammed into the machine if a condidate requests a legal count all the bulletins that the machine has swallowed his peel, they will be kept for several months then destroyed.
The errors that we noticed a lot of white bultins canceled or two candidates blackened, after investigation several old people thought that the pencil was like the electronic boards and made a simple pressure on the ballot or a small point that the machine did not detect
Another point to watch, the one who programs the machine the total of the votes can be inverted into the candidates
the machine does not know the names, a point at such and such a place on the sheet corresponds to 1 or 2 or 3 which is attributed to a candidate
So the game organizers must attend the test before starting the machine and after the count, to ensure that the numbers correspond to the candidates.
the other thing is the advance vote which now reaches more than 10% of the vote and which remains in the hands of (specialists) for 8 days.
No telephone wire or transmitting device must be connected to this machine otherwise we could follow the vote remotely.
For having made many elections, I am not very in favor of these methods which risk tainting the whole democratic process
which for me must be done in the most transparent way possible to eliminate any possibility of cheating.
The judges, notaries and the medical corp are currently proceeding all by paper. in case of dispute, it takes a clearly identifiable trace.

Today election day in Quebec in one hour closing of the polling stations difficult to say who will have the power but on that it will be a minority government so return to the poll in a year, a minority government does not stand for long

Thank you for these details, André.
But the argument of checking whether a computer wire for data transmission is not connected to the machine, is no longer admissible.
It has been said that the friendly firm that built Bush's voting machines had a program that altered the results "a little", depending on the mood.
A program fits in a chip.
For data transmission, a connecting wire is no longer necessary.
Radiofrequency links have been around for a long time.
And could be used to transmit an order, for the choice of a tort program.

Transmitter device I made allussion radio or infrared wave ..
It remains that a candidate who has doubts we take out all the ballots and count with the mitten.

I had seen a report not long ago where a computer scientist demonstrated by A + B that the reliability of the machines was more than doubtful. By changing a simple chip (accessible from a hatch of the machine), he significantly transformed the results.
Even if this demonstration requires a minimum of knowledge on the part of the "trafficker", it is nonetheless true that it is much more difficult for the average citizen (the only guarantor of true democracy) to verify the fairness of the counting in the case of an electronic vote.

To be really sure, this system should involve
  • A verification of each machine before the vote by experts sent by each party (including the smallest). So that the little ones could also check, it would be up to the state to pay, the party content to choose who to send.
  • Total isolation of each machine from any outside intervention during the entire voting phase: no connection with the outside (network, Wifi, BlueTooth, etc.), all access doors locked and LEADED until that the legal time limits for contestation have passed.
  • A verification of each machine after this period by experts sent by each party

In short, the various elements necessary for real transparency make the process so complicated that it would double the cost of a vote.
Unless our dear rulers are ready to sacrifice democracy for a few hours of waiting less : Evil:

Sure, it would be clear progress against waste (paper)! : Mrgreen:
----
In France, the difficult counting, with many candidates, generally ends before midnight, for more than 90% of the ballots cast.
I don't see where the problem is, and why would we change this?
If not to spend more public money, for the benefit of a few raptors, or to be able to act at will and fraudulently, on the result of the elections.
Nothing good in there!

Even this fallacious argument can be refuted.

The cost price of ballots should be compared: manufacture, transport, recycling (disposal?) With that of voting machines: purchase price, maintenance, kickbacks (according to elephant : Lol: ) ...

In this regard, a machine always breaks down on the day it is needed (essential murphy's law). : Mrgreen:

In the event of a dispute, the paper ballots can be recounted. If the machine "crashes", no recourse ...

No, the idea comes at least from the ENA:
Democracy is too serious to entrust to ordinary citizens...

Beautiful bullshit I have never consumed paper since I have a computer if I look at the number of printers and inkwells and missed sheets ...

it's the same story as having a smart identity card for your security, for your blood type, and medical goods.
My eye at the same time your political affiliations, if your father was a trade unionist or participated in demonstrations, ect ..
already enough that it maintains an information bank that all recruitment offices have access to, a red book for employers!
a trace with credit cards or with cell phone calls, we are sufficiently monitored like that
In Monaco casually we have the impression of being free like the wind, but we are being followed.
the electronics is a beautiful thing, but in the wrong hands it is labeling for the population, no need to have a bar code on the back.
Already you buy something in a store the cashier your No tel! she taps and your name and address comes out it prints on the invoice.

Voting machines represent a serious danger for democracy!
Or at least the security of the ballot.

The problem is that the voter has no proof that his vote is recorded and especially how it is recorded !!!

However, it would be simple to provide a sort of cash register whose name of the candidate can be seen printed on a receipt behind a glass and which the machine keeps "in its belly" for any subsequent control.

If Sarko passes you can be sure that these machines will automatically be voted on ...

It's funny but I'm starting to fear like a coup d'etat in the bush from sarko ...
