Forum alternatives: the local goes on the attack!

by ulysse88 » 18/08/11, 08:21

Hello everyone,

On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 next September, at the IUT Saint Dié, will be held the 1er forum alternatives: the local goes on the attack ...

You are very welcome for this gathering, this bubbling kitchen of our common canteen. The soup will be good, beautiful and strong in the mouth because it is by dint of round tables, conferences, stands, cooperative games, tales, free zones, what do I know ... that the craftsmen of "no side "Deodatien, peasants, eco-builders, enlightened pedagogues, quiet doctors, recyclers and poets, onlookers, sharers, bankers of the future, people of little, people here, scholars or simple lovers of our handsome people will stir the stick.

At the time of crises, the Forum local alternatives for actors, actresses and all citizens of a world centered on the human person and not on economic profit is intended above all as a tool for mutualization and convergence for and by its actors: "another world is possible ".

Are already waiting: AMAP, Roule ma frite, Apple crunchers, Amnesty International, The voluntary mowers, Ecolline, To be born to grow, the Redd (local currency), With, Déodatie in Transition, Attac, Montetibou, Out of the nuclear, Awakening cap, Craftsmen of the world, Vosges Ecology, Co-born, In parentheses, the Plant of methanisation, Alternatives nuclear, Birds nature, Enercoop, Biodiversity 88, Mets and words, the Philomatic ... and many others . Forty citizens associations ... deodatians!

They will all be there. Convincers full of energy, extraordinary, valiant indefatigable. They will all be there and waiting for us. We, the others, the cousins, the unpretentious, the everyone, the quidam, the curious, the good people ... us, humans of all kinds, the common denominator, the people ... We, the flower of salt so precious for the sauce to take!

Yes buddies ... that the sauce takes ...

Hello Christopher,

no, I have not been a student since ... a while! : Mrgreen:

But the Iut is now the only structure in the sector that allowed us conferences (amphi), and rooms and other spaces for the stands of associations, workshops etc ...

I am part of many of these associations: With for eco-building, Redd for the local currency (so the launch should take place during this forum), and Déodatie in Transition.

In short, we were several in the corner, various associations, who had the excitement, the desire to do something ... so here!

Watch the blog of forum, the program should not delay.

Again thank you for distributing the information, thank you very much!

Oops ...

To sum up, as you have the Trièves south of Grenoble ... it is a territory that extends in the northern part of the Hautes-Vosges, from Raon l'Etape to Gérardmer, via St-Dié, in Parc Natural Regional Ballons des Vosges. It forms a large crescent of 100000 inhabitants spread over about 1200 km².

In short, we are neighbors in some way ... : Cheesy:

Voili, here ... : Wink:

Good evening everyone,

just a clarification on the Saturday evening:

Should we really try to replace oil?

Who in Deodatie has never thought about it in family, at work or with friends?
This is what the Forum des Alternatives invites you to do Saturday September 24 at the IUT
from Saint-Dié-des-Vosges.

To try to answer it, in other words to know where we are going ... we need to know where
we come.

At first Jc Fombarron, of the Vosges philomatic society, will enlighten us
on our past with "the local: finding our history to allow tomorrow", at 20pm.

Then Benoît Thévard offers you to think, and answer your questions. Engineer
Energy consulting and resilience of the territories, member of the Momentum Institute *, he
will host the conference "Déodatie en transition: living without oil? From 20
h30.

"When you understand the phenomenon of peak oil, you can understand the
problem in many ways.

You can get depressed because of a feeling of helplessness since you depend, as
everyone, of this abundant and cheap energy. Moreover, you do not see any
possibility of escaping the general slump that awaits us. You then put this problem
in a corner of your mind not to think about it too much and you continue to live,
reassured by the unconsciousness of all those around you.

You can see a fabulous opportunity to change paradigms, reorganize
your life, that of your neighbors, your neighborhood or your city, because you are
aware that we will never be able to have such an energy manna. You
are excited by the ambitious change that is taking shape and by this possibility of
build your life by yourself and more depending on what society imposes on you.

Finally, you can hope to see a solution emerge, THE solution that you
will not change anything or almost your lifestyle. You hope that, as for
all the technological innovations, all you have to do is go to the supermarket and
fill out a check (or make a credit) to solve the problem. After all, there is no
no reason that changes, we have always done like that.

It is often around this last possibility that the debates are located. What
technical solutions would allow us to change nothing or almost? In how many
time will they be ready? How much would they cost? "(Benoît Thévard)

It will be a unique opportunity for the public to form an opinion, to understand
the current energy crisis situation, its possible outcomes, the solutions
conceivable or not.

For those who wish, reflection workshops will be organized on Sunday
from 10 hours by Benoît Thévard and Michaël Pruniaux, both trained by the
network of Transition Initiatives France.

Nice program and congratulations for this event.

The answer is yes, as for nuclear.

The solution begins by stopping use whenever it is not needed, and using a suitable substitute for all applications where there are already (and there are many).

But beware of alternatives that are worse than oil.
I think, for example agrofuels ...

A reminder: since the XNIXXth century, the development of the industry requires high performance lubricants. The best lubricant available from whales could be replaced by petrochemical substitutes, slowing down a bit the slaughter of these marine mammals ... We should not go back to the use of whale oil on the pretext of no longer using the oil...

The wood-based ones are no problem. But it would be even simpler to be able to use wood pellets directly without the need for intermediate "fermentation".
