Energy micro-algae: An agreement signed between Bioalgostral and IGV, Zinfos974.com, 22 / 06 / 10

An agreement was signed between the Reunionnais Bioalgostral and the German company IGV, the world leader in photobioreactor technology (tubular technology). A partnership on the sidelines of the 8eme European Conference on Micro-Algae held in Germany a few days ago.
This agreement will allow the transfer of know-how and technologies for the production of energy from microalgae at La Reunion. Bioalgostral plans eventually to produce biofuel on an industrial scale. The Reunion benefits from ideal climatic conditions for the production of microalgae, which need heat throughout the year to develop and proliferate.
IGV is the only company that proposes a process of culture of mirco-algae in tubular (circuit-farm) on the industrial scale. This large group has recently allowed EADS to take off a plane that has consumed only biofuel from micro-algae.
The wish of Bioalgostral is "the creation of a center for the production of fuel up to the final product", with the aim of setting up a new sector, "which will create jobs", indicates Laurent Bleriot, associate Bioalgostral Indian Ocean, whose wish is to "contribute to economic development".
