Good document that I will hasten to put on the site :)
Too bad there are not all the plans ... but it's already very good!

Be careful, the Colin press is for palm oil! For oilseeds, it takes at least 250 bars for an acceptable extraction ...

The height of refinement would be a wheel powered by a hydraulic turbine.
More class it would be a mill powered by a windmill.

I think that this link is rather made to produce even its salad oil since the jar containing one pound (500g) of seeds subjected to the pressure of the jack of three tons produces about 1 / 10eme of liter of oil with each pressing this which to obtain 20 L of oil requires 200 pressing ... : Shock:

with a jack of 20 tons and 5 kg of grain would be less tedious ... : Lol:

but I think that refueling with 40 L oil lovingly squeezed in hand ca can have another look at the fuel and better respect it ...

so, some of you have they advanced ?? Because I admit that grinding seeds for my fuel works me more and more.

So, I'm searching too. : Cheesy:

the industrial press or it is a screw that stuffs the seeds and makes the pressure have a bad mechanical performance: the lost mechanical power heats up and allows the oil to go out more easily

a screw chopper looks a little bit but will not be strong enough to make enough pressure

a hydraulic press with a piston that presses a limited amount at a time will consume less energy but it will heat the seeds by other means, and fill and empty the press manually while the screw press works alone

Collaborative development of a vegetable oil press.

by wampyr32 » 20/02/08, 02:40

Hello everyone !

Following various cogitations on Oliomobile, I created a collaborative development site of a vegetable oil press.
It is a hydraulic piston press that simultaneously performs 1 micron filtration. The pressing cylinder will be made of microporous sintered stainless steel.
The site comes in the form of a wiki with a forum at the bottom of each page where the speakers can discuss, and when an idea emerges, we can modify the page.
You must first register on the site before you can edit it.
Come many, everyone can bring his knowledge.
Handymen Sunday or seasoned, webmasters and other Geotrouvetout, you are all welcome!
The link: OlioPresse, collaborative development of an oil press.

The site is hosted on the free Wikifarm wikidot.com

thank you wampyr32 for your site

I'm a little afraid of your sintered stainless steel cylinder: I'm afraid it will definitely become obsolete: unless there is already an experience that proves otherwise

I like a simple perforated sheet with a nylon fabric

Of course, the movement of the piston must not kill the canvas: that's what I see for artisanal production of walnut oil

this gave me the idea of making a hydraulic press without piston: a simple rubber membrane separates the hydraulic oil from the pressing material

the seeds must have been triturated and reheated for ease of extraction

Good evening!
Sintered stainless steel cylinders are available up to 0,1 micron with 50% porosity. I think the impurities are bigger, especially since we do not crush the material. All 10 piston shots can be sent HVB under pressure from the outlet to unclog the cylinder ...
Your system can work with nuts, the oil is easily extractable.
