It's very interesting, but the gap is not obvious. Comparative tests should be performed under exactly the same conditions.
I do not have the Econokit, but when I come back from the coast (at 100km) the WE, I also make consos 3 4 liters in E10 thanks ... to the wind On the way, I make 5 6 liters with the headwind.

Re: Econokit does not bubble on hybrid toyota
we can suppose that if he made any favorable course, it was also necessary to return with contrary conditions! so if we go down one side we consume less, but we also have to put it back together

Re: Econokit does not bubble on hybrid toyota
To form an opinion, one should have traveled at least 10000 km. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still under warranty for a long time so no question about Econokit or ethanol E85 because the warranty on the hybrid system would fall.
Consumption is higher in winter because the heat engine runs more often in order to maintain the LDR at 83 ° C but also to keep the interior temperature displayed constant. By lowering the temperature to "Lo" we stop the thermal but the fuel economy is probably insignificant, although ...
The use of the speed regulator also starts the heat engine more frequently, a priori in "B" mode, so with the heat engine brake without fuel injection but, in acceleration, the heat is used more with the governor. Difficult to say if there is more or less consumption with the regulator. It's controversial ...

Would more than 100.000 km do the trick? To form an opinion, one should have traveled at least 10000 km. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still under warranty for a long time so no question about Econokit or ethanol E85 because the warranty on the hybrid system would fall.

Yes, the guarantee is 100000 km! So no Econokit or E85 is the end of the warranty and Madam would not agree, she is the main user.
Anyway, the gain in consumption with the Econokit does not seem obvious, for the moment with tibo54200.
And I do not ask myself any more questions when I see that I can do 3,4l / 100 one day and 5,6l / 100 another day on the same course under the same conditions of temperature, speed, traffic, etc ...

Re: Econokit does not bubble on hybrid toyota
I'll stop right now Maximus the pictures I sent you represent all the good performances.
Today 4,4L on the way out and 4,7L on the way back
But a month ago I was around 5,3L 5,6L at 100.
I have never lowered my consumption so low since I bought it.
In addition (but I will never understand this phenomenon) I went back to 17 ", and I am therefore supposed to consume more on equal terms ...

I do not put your word in doubt, but I know that the conso can vary significantly without there being any apparent reason. 5,3 or 5,6L is higher than my average consumption, not the one displayed by the OBD, but the one I get on the Excel table where I control my consumption. I am at 5,14L of E10 with 2 / 3 in city and peri-urban area.
For tires, it could come from different gums? Or the width? The Prius first version had 13 tires or 14 very narrow, low friction Michelin, it is more at all fashionable.

For my part I am in 225 / 45 / 17 in summer Bridgestone turanza 5
And 195 / 65 / 15 goodride snowmaster (under Goodyear brand) in winter
The performances in terms of friction are the same in any case according to the European label.

Re: Econokit does not bubble on hybrid toyota
I spoke about the inertia of the wheels here in 2009 (!) And proposed a calculation. The inertia of 4 rotating wheels is far from negligible (with the discs, driveshafts, and even the MG2 electric motor rotor in the case of Toyota hybrids) and it adds to the inertia of the mass of the vehicle:

It's fun to re-read these 10 pages years later! I defend the hybrid car ... For my opponents, hyper-skilled engineers, it's a marketing thing without interest and without a future, in short, another tip to the con slang.
Ten years later, everyone started and it must be admitted that these hyper-competent ingested have been seriously mistaken. It's sad and it's even dramatic, alas.
Now, today's 16, 17, or 18 inch wheels are not very different in mass or size. No wonder it doesn't play much. You should try the wheels of the Prius 1 or the Honda Insight 1, magnesium rims in 13 "and width 105 ...
