Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum.I have read a bit of everything that is said in terms of mixing oil + diesel but or I do not understand something is how one can believe that the oil can be less polluting than the diesel ?? It's still the purpose of this forum, offer less expensive solutions for the consumer but also less polluting. Or do I go wrong ???
There are many discharges into the atmosphere and pollution. I do not know what order, but if I could be informed, it would better illuminate my lantern.
Now to come back to concrete, I have a 1.9 1998 diesel group 136000, with XNUMX km certified. I have a lucas brand rotary pump and apparently this pump is more fragile to the oil / diesel mixture. is an indirect injection.
Hence my question: what advise me to consume less?
As it turns to 6 liters to one hundred. I find it a bit high.
So if the econological community could help me, I would be very grateful.
Goods.

Why vegetable oil is less polluting than diesel
1 / Diesel fuel is a hydrocarbon of fossil origin (like coal, natural gas ...) by consuming fossil fuels is released into the atmosphere of CO2 from the carbon stored in the basement. Before consuming diesel, it is extracted, transported, refined, transported and finally used.
2 / The vegetable oil comes from plants that absorb CO2 during their growth. We are only releasing CO2 instead of destocking CO2 accumulated for millions of years and released massively since 1siècle !!!
3 / The process of extracting oil and simple and economical, residues (cakes) are valued as animal feed or solid energy.
4 / Ideally we should use oil extracted from plants (non-GMO), grown locally (limit the maximum transport) without fertilizers or pesticides of petrochemical origin with machines (tractors ...) also using oil vegetable ...
"Bioethanol" which is not at all organic does exactly the opposite of what I have just stated above and its use is therefore more polluting than directly using gasoline in our engines. Indeed, producing 1 liter of "bioethanol" requires consuming more than a liter of gasoline ...
The development of this sector is due to sugar lobbies which see the end of the subsidies that the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) attributes to them, seek to obtain new subsidies (our taxes) from the state to continue their activity (polluting ).
Concerning the lucas pump, I had several PSA diesels fitted with boch and lucas and if the consumptions were similar, the boch pumps made the engines more "nervous and powerful" and showed excellent reliability, unlike the Lucas pumps. ...

Does this information seem possible to you?
it would not be better, the suppression of sulfur in the gas oil,
because there is a real problem, on certain vehicles it is imperative to add an additive, and there have been cases of pumps actually.

Hello
Lucas pumps also work with vegetable oil, but during improper handling, too cold oil or oil ratio too high, it is fragile, the drive shaft breaks, pump oil thicker and more difficult than diesel ..
As for the new diesel it approaches the kerosene, less lubricant for mechanical pumps, high pressure and low pressure, some low pressure are piston but many pallets which explains the important return of fuel to the tank to lubricate the pump and remove the air bubbles.
Since the arrival of the new diesel I always add fuel oil vegétal a minimum of 5% on the one hand because I heated 60c constantly ..
In terms of pollution, it is not always the smoke or the smell that is a sign of dangerous pollution, for proof in the countryside it smells of manure and fummée of firewood fireplaces, in town it smells nothing and see nothing, but ....
