Hello
I would like to know if a study has been made on the comparison of the 2 main biofuels:
ie ethanol (created by sugar cane) and sunflower oil
the most important for me would be to know first:
-the ecological impact (from what I saw ethanol pollutes more than sunflower oil)
-the difficulty for the creation (apparently it's easier to produce oil but by
sugar cane we end up with 2 sugar and ethanol products)
- engine modifications (I know what has changed on a diesel engine for oil
but no idea to adapt it to ethanol)
Thank you
comparison ethanol / sunflower oil

hello noberto (bondia)
sorry not to be able to answer your questions, however I would like, since you seem to master the subject! ... but first of all allow me to tell you about my first experience.
ford fiesta an. 95 170000 km with which I have just driven for 4 months with a mixture of 40% oil 60% diesel, I wanted to reverse the percentages and the little problem !! , almost immediately after starting, it is impossible to restart the engine.
result of porous manual pump menbrane coincidence or incidence ??, for your info I have a lucas injection pump.
What do you recommend as a modification to increase the percentage of oil on this confirugation. THANK YOU

1) You will find some answers in this study:
https://www.econologie.com/le-prix-des-b ... -1734.html
2) Otherwise there are comparisons on the oliomobile or IFHVP website
3) There is also a summary comparison in this file:

You will quickly see that for a LUCAS pump, the recommended maximum is 30% (a little less in winter) EXCEPT if you switch to dual fuel.

Ah good ? In lucas bicarburation at 100% is it possible? I never read that .... in any case I would not try!

I won't try either. Lucas pumps are poorly suited to a fuel that is too viscous despite the heating systems. My mechanic also informed me of the breakage of a Lucas pump under these conditions. It was a recent model on a C15. But maybe the old models are more resistant?
