6th October, 1949 (finally a letter typography so easily readable!)

HM Thuillier evokes a group of metropolitan scientists, to whom Doctor Laigret described his process, at the end of September 1949, at the beginning of October 1949.

Great this research work!

Well, there is more to apply to the archives of the Satory camps

I did not manage to read everything but it still shows the seriousness of the work of Dr. Laigret and suddenly it shows that we are right to attach ourselves to this project.

Thank you all !!!

Extract from a new document which suggests that the Petroleum Institute (when it was still in Paris, probably the ancestor of the current IFP in Lyon) would have been interested in Laigret oil ...

Hi Christopher,

this is research; since then, even IFP must have forgotten that it interested him ... :P

Hi Remu!

Oh no, the IFP has probably forgotten nothing ... everything must be archived ... somewhere under more or less ... thick files. I think you know what I mean ...

Research question, here is another doc: extract from the journal of Casimir Cépède, a researcher (a little geotrouvetout) contemporary of Laigret. Sources: Pasteur Institute Archives provided by Thierry Saint Germès

Hi everybody,
After a few months of absence on the subject, we come back with the reports of ESAIP students.

Finally two groups worked on the subject, they each produced a report and a poster used to summarize their work.

The first groups entitled their report "study of the direct transformation of organic residues into petroleum by fermentation of anaerobic bacteria".

Through this report, we can see different systems that have been implemented around the world. These processes work (often on the scale of a tester) and prove, if it were still necessary, that our waste can serve us.

The poster for this group is here.

The second report is entitled "Biogas production: petroleum synthesis by fermentation from organic waste".

Through this report, we can better see and understand the bacterial activities that come into play in the production of biogas. We also see the treatments necessary to make this biogas usable in transport.

The poster for this group is here.

Good reading

Thank you C Moa for these documents ...

I noted in the first that there would be a "hybrid" process mixing thermal and biological lysis effects ...

In fact in the recovery of biomass, there are 2 schools: gasifiers / thermolysers and digesters by bacteria ... It seems that once between the two exist ... : Idea:

I for my part have a bias for thermolysis followed by the synthesis of methanol.

In the second report, we would essentially obtain methane by biological means ... I also wonder what is meant by "petroleum" in these two documents: it is not clear whether it is alcohols, alkanes, see fatty acid ("oil").

Anyway, I think we are only at the beginning of the start of the startup, but there is surely enough to experiment :D
