[For use in France: watch out for noise - the original exhaust was a pipe coming out on the roof!]

It's the only glitch, but there has to be a way to fix it.

fouling after 150h is not very significant ... what will it be after 1000 or 10000 hours?

with the engine that I dismantled I find that the fouling and especially significant of the power where we used the engine in the last hundred hours: just run it fully for 100 hours to have a clean engine

I had put back into service a 2-stroke CLM diesel engine which had been used for a very long time only at low power: after 1/2 hour of operation at full power a spark was emitted by the vertical exhaust pipe

for noise a large exhaust pipe solves the problem

be careful the volume of the pot depends on the unit displacement ... not the engine power ... this large displacement single cylinder therefore requires roughly the same pot as a 6 cylinder 100hp truck

advantage it is very rigid cast iron motor: with a large exhaust and a large air filter there is no other noise

I used bernard diesel and vendoeuvre air cooling: it is a disaster, even with good exhaust pot, the cooling fins are lamentable noise emitter ... and it is not easy to pass cooling air without passing noise with

Tchouf, tchouf ....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mjQJq0a ... re=related
My goal is to turn on the oil, and send the water cooling to the house.
This engine appears to be air-cooled.
The second video, it cools with water, but waste heat in a radiator.
Electricity would be used to heat the sanitary water.
