“Clean glass” system

Hello,
A few years ago I used a VARDE brand stove with "clean windows".
It heats up very well, but when I open the door to load the wood, there is a lot of dust coming out, because of the clean window system ... it's to cry.
The secondary air comes to lick the window and therefore, when you open the door, this air also causes fumes and dust ...
There is dust all over the house.
I had paid this thing 3000 euros!

Hello,

I will download the documentation and compare all of this data and the volume ...

It is clear that compared to a specialist in stoves / fireplaces etc ... sellers of DIY supermarkets will not have the same skills or knowledge of all heating parameters ... I will go see ... But as far as the prices are concerned, I have no illusions, the Castos, LM and others make volume so attractive prices ... By cons I buy bread from the baker in my village;) ...

Thanks again for all the info available on this forum.

It is very wrong to think that ... it's like saying: I do my shopping in the supermarket because anyway it is cheaper than the butcher or baker in my neighborhood (if you are lucky that 'they still exist ...) but without really comparing ... Did you do it?

For example: on economic bulbs Megaman one (= small shop for 2 people) is better or as well placed as LM for example ...

Another example Decatlhon offers this led torch at 9.9 € ...

I know our purchase prices and we have not voluntarily reduced the margins for making call products ...

But you're right: they manage to have better purchase prices given their volumes ... so they make "rear" margins by putting pressure on the manufacturer ...

Did you ask for the LM tax credit? Image

Hello, I take advantage of the subject on the choice of stoves, to have your opinion.
So there you have it, I have a very large open fireplace in my old house, and I would like to put a stove in it, rather than an insert.
I have about 70 m2 to heat on the ground floor, with beams on the ceiling.
I do not count the floor since the stove will be opposite the stairs.
according to two stores, we were advised:
- scan 10 all cast iron, 7kw nominal and 9k max, 79% yield at € 2700, logs 50 cm
- rustic chazelles, 11 kw at 2300 € with smoke extraction system, loading on the side, post combustion system, for logs up to 60 cm,

- a 10.5 kw "carvin" godin at 1800 €, 57 cm logs,
- an "eco" log of 10 kw, with a log reserve, 55 cm logs at 1550 €.

Knowing that for an aesthetic choice, the last one pleases us a lot, but I have the impression that the scan or chazelles is a notch above in terms of quality than Godin, is this true or a false impression?

knowing that the budget is around 3500 €, installation and tubing included (around 1500 € according to estimates), which solution would you choose? or if you have other choices do not hesitate.

our criteria:
the price
correct heating knowing that the house is old, the insulation is not perfect (we have electric heating for now and it's going well, it's + for convenience.)
the size of the logs is not important
the width of the chimney is 1.80 m, height also.
if possible, be able to turn it on in the morning easily ...

that's it, thanks in advance 8)

Hello Labor
:D
I do not count the floor since the stove will be opposite the stairs.

If there are no doors on the ground floor, the heat will quickly find the way to your staircase.

There is no harm, if the heat rises ... anyway it will pass through the bottom before rising.
Isn't that the sales in France?
In principle, there are quality labels.
Today I saw poels in Belgium, some met the standards, others did not (label on the glass)
The performance is also noted on the stove manual; I was amazed at the differences ...
If you have several sellers, you may get a good deal, explain your case to these sellers. :D

Good evening, I come back to you to make a choice
after multiple searches, we positioned ourselves on these
jotul 274 3980 € fitted
rika fox 3960 € mounted
olsberg fogo 4180 € mounted
hase luno 4200 € mounted

these 4 appeal to us aesthetically,
the fox has a soapstone covering (which should heat our house better ...),
l'olsberg no feedback on this brand
jotul is nice too
ditto hase

considering the price difference, I would love your opinions to make the best choice

thank you
cordially
David

Hello Latoug,
With the best will in the world, no one can answer you.
How to advise you this or that poel without having tried them all :?
We can give you advice, nothing more.
Here is one: you are talking about a stove with soapstone. (Fox)
The one I bought offered with or without these stones.
I regret having taken without, because I lost thermal inertia.
And if you decide on a poel, ask for the telephone number of a customer who owns this poel, just to get feedback. Where is the harm :D
By cons you will already have to buy wood, for next winter.
Nothing like dry wood. (this is 50% of the proper functioning of the stove)

Hello everybody

Indeed for the choice of a wood stove or pellet burning stove, the best is to go through a professional and establish a thermal balance of the house to better analyze the energy needs.
We can give you a user opinion but that is not enough in choosing a device of this type, which requires such an investment.
