Izentrop, I did not add a nail puller function, because I realized this tool "in real time", as we say today in a pompous way and that I have an excellent crowbar for this use. On the other hand, it would have been really complicated (but not impossible), because the gripping pin concentrates considerable efforts on a small volume of material and cannot be made of simple structural steel, but forged in a steel with higher carbon content, suitable for quenching and tempering (compatible with simple heat treatments *, achievable without industrial equipment).

I agree that often nails damage boards, so when I think of a project, I know I will not use the total length of the board. on a board of 120cm, I count on 95 cm of usable, for example for a project of siding, so that I keep not the outermost parts most abimed ...

It is a bit of a waste, but I use the small pieces to start the fire in the wood stove before putting my good oak logs ...

And for the most difficult nails, I leave them in, and I pass them a grinder so that they do not exceed.

With the experience, I also learned to better choose my pallets when I go to look for them !!! I leave the ones I know are just going to bring me problems and too much loss ...
