Not completely gone!
I just saw about twenty on the electric wire in front of my house; they dive to catch insects; this morning overcast and stormy weather, that surely explains their attitude (there are UAVs - unidentified flying insects -).
But it's true that I remember seeing hundreds of them lined up on the power lines.
Are they part of the endangered species?
Swallows in the process of extinction?

Man is by nature a political animal (Aristotle)
Hello,
At home, in my garage, a couple of swallows have been nesting for 10 years. Each year, 2 broods of 5 young.
That's roughly a hundred swallows born at home since I live there
3 years ago, I raised and redone my roof. They redid their nests on the new beams.
An opening that overlooks the courtyard, never closed because the garage has turned into a luxury niche for large doggies.
How many survived the first migratory trip ??
Especially since this year, I find the young of the second brood quite skinny and time may make them migrate earlier.
Will they survive the long crossing?
How long does a swallow live?
Is it always the same couple or their descendants?

Well, the swifts are bigger that the swallows ....
In addition, because of the shape of their legs, it seems to me that the swifts do not land on the wires .....

The swifts are larger and their legs prevent them from taking off from a flat ground, they must drop into the void to gain speed and then fly.
When in swallows I have about 15 couples each year who make two litters from 3 to four small, hello dirt !!!
but this year only 8 couples came ....
and left very early, shit time!
