do you have any references for these grinders, on the jean pain website you can find them, personally I would prefer a thermal to grind on site.
thanks for all the info

Hello,
by searching on the net we find shredders at significantly less than 3000 € (site under500.fr for example) but what are they worth first from a quality point of view intrinsically and then compared to the production of brf, sahcant de more than almost all the shredders accept branches of 4 cm in diameter.
so what's the right one? because some are poorly designed (comment again read on the net)
makharov a small reference please thank you : Cheesy:

I maintain that the kind of shredder we need is in the prices advertised above.
For me the only suitable shredders for this kind of work are the Jean Pain shredders visible here:
http://www.jean-pain.com/planche_broy.htm
There is also a second-hand model at 600 € on Ebay but, it is the adaptable version for mini-tractor without trailer it seems, otherwise I would have bought it already.
PS I do not have the links but there are only three crushers for sale so easily findable.

We look forward to seeing you!
when reading the description of the first model (the 280) we see that there is on the one hand no hammer (unlike other models on the market) and on the other hand a mechanism that limits the size of the fragments : I imagine that these are the two important points to respect in order to have "optimal" brf, now effectively considering the price would "traditional" shredders still do the trick or would we lose too much property of the BRF with such grinders (maybe even hack them : Cheesy: by firing the hammers ...)

I did not asser derecul on the aspects hammers not hammers, knife or other for me that does not change anything because for the mushrooms to settle they just need an open wound. I don't understand what you mean by commercial shredders. For the moment I have not found shredders that are more than 4,4 cm in diameter apart from those for shredding wood into chips, danc in the trade too but more for farmers, landscapers, communities.

It is true that they look not bad, but in practice you are not with a vernier caliper to measure each branch and there are always some that make more than 7 up to 10 in diam and that you also pass, so you must oversize your grinder to 12cm a month. Thank you anyway for the link it is true that for those who are sure to only deal with small diam that goes perfectly!

as far as I'm concerned, I'm in a good configuration for the use of BRF, I have my olive fields (100) pruned each year plus the forests right next to prune, I just need to choose a adequate model of shredder (obviously also in my budget).
I would have spread the brf before the end of the 2008 rainy season to benefit from the water retention effect: pruning in March and then spreading ... we will see : Cheesy:
