Producers, between ten and thirty depending on the sector, gathered without incident, especially in front of dairies in the English Channel. Lactalis, near Villedieu-les-Poêles and the Bongrain group, in Ducey near Avranches. In Calvados, similar actions were carried out in Bayeux.
The APLI, the Association of Independent Producers, once again denounces the too low remuneration of milk producers by manufacturers, while, according to them, the milk market is starting to rise again. Prices have fallen below 260 euros per thousand liters and the agricultural aid plan announced in October does not seem to have calmed independent breeders.
They promised new actions in the coming days. In Villedieu, for example, they intend to take turns, day and night, until manufacturers agree to soften the rules of the game.
"We do not disturb the local collection but we just check the products that enter the dairies, in particular plant materials such as palm oil sometimes used fraudulently in the composition of dairy products", explains André Lefranc, a milk producer member of the APLI in the Channel.
