I have a lot of aphids this year, on lots of plants: chamomile, artichokes, beans, wormwood, cabbage mounted in seeds, Eryngium (blue thistle) ... And lots of ladybugs, ladybug larvae, syrphids ...

Broken eggshell: slug barrier, myth or reality?

The image response, from a video I made. It even seemed to me that she took some pleasure in surfing the shells.

Another method to test: borage (which I sowed, but in a flower box ...), which would be a good slug repellent ...

- Positive points from several sources: allows a more prosperous fruit and vegetable harvest because it is very attractive to pollinators, brings calcium and magnesium to the soil, ...

- Negative point or to dig (it's only my opinion ..): I find it bulky (to the detriment of other plants?), To see if it is "controllable", at what maximum distance should it be implanted ( or rather plant it) in relation to the plants to be protected?

I can easily believe that it doesn't work : Mrgreen:

The only 90% effective method is flanges.

Or possibly bottles or any other object of this style provided that it is adapted to the cultures, but the collars are much more PRACTICAL.

I add a small one I found another solution: buy radish martyrs "apache" here for example
https://fr.aliexpress.com/wholesale?cat ... Text=radis
and sow them in the middle of your crops.
Radishes are not good for humans, but slugs love them.

That's what I did with the carrots and 90% were on the carrots.

Since I fired all the radishes to see they're back on the carrots
SO
I'm going to resow in the middle of the carrots and the rest

While waiting for your radishes to grow, put on lettuce and / or scoralia that you leave withered near your carrots. We find some that grow everywhere at least in the Loire region.
This technique suggested by Didier works well.
Curiously at the beginning of the season the slugs did not let any salad grow now they are disinterested. They eat it but do not ratibois.

I have trouble expressing myself. : Oops:

When in the chassis there were Chinese radishes and carrots growing the slugs were 90% on the radishes,
So I removed all the radishes to see
There are carrots, weeds, peas, tomatoes, 1 or 2 zucchini not very large and they are 70% on carrots and share the rest between weeds, peas, tomatoes and (little) zucchini
So I'm going to resow Chinese radishes to attract them again to the radishes

OKAY. Got it. When there are radishes, carrots, and something else, it's 90% on radishes (Chinese, if I understood correctly).

When you remove the radishes, it's 70% on the carrots ...
