For the tuberous chervil I will see if I find seeds to try.
I have 3 Daïcons growing, they seem to be in good shape for the moment
I just harvested parsnip, the root was huge on the surface, I expected a good harvest but finally it was only 10cm, it made a kind of ball like celery root. It's the 3rd one that looks like this.
Does this happen to you?
How is it that in the trade it looks more like the shape of carrots?

I had carrots like this: the ones I had prepared in seed beds, then transplanted ...
1) There are varieties of carrots that have a ball shape ... For parsnips, I don't know!
2) If it is not a varietal character, it is because the main root has been damaged. Cause: ?????

For parsnips, isn't there a little animal that may have dug just below in the spring, or even a larva that has nibbled? In principle, it makes rather big, big carrots (very hard to pull off by hand because very deep)

Looks like there are three merged into 1
I had very few parsnips because it grows so slowly at first that I thought it was ruined and I replanted things on it.
That said, the 2/3 survivors are very long but also more swollen at the top. And what a scent !!

I am going to try just for that, it seems that it is very good, a forgotten vegetable which returns to the tastes of the day, after the supremacy of the carrots, perhaps also because as you say it perhaps grows too slowly ...

I'm going to try next year too, this year there were already so many new things in my vegetable garden that it's gone by the wayside, I thought about it for a while. On the taste side, we like it a lot, it can be used in many ways.

Regarding the cauliflower in the main thread, I put a photo of mine who are beautiful this year.
Brussels sprouts 2 are very beautiful and 2 others are small
By the way, a Daicon radish weighing one kilo five but the bottom 1/3 is rotten. I have the same phenomenon on carrots.
Probably too much water now.

Yes at first, now in the shared garden many admit that it works. Some ask questions, I thought some would apply at least on a tape.
Well even if about 1/3 has changed their habits and brings organic matter, none of them fully practice, they can not help either shivering or digging or adding soil.
My little victory, some people collect waste from the green waste heap of those who cultivate the old fashioned way.
Yet half of them come to see me and go into ecstasy at the proliferation of vegetables.
Before the covid, I was even asked to do an animation to explain the principle. Didier I assure you not to betray your thought and would not fail to speak about your books and videos.
