For jams and compotes, we reuse all kinds of recycling jars, with their original lids. Just a check to see if there are any rust spots ... Turned hot, it disinfects ... No problem - yes, sometimes to open!

It sells new covers but ecologically it would be better to reuse them dozens of times.

hi, my mother just reused commercial jars like green beans in glass and metal lid, such as, and put tomatoes and classic sterilization in them as if they were jars of the famous brand with the orange rubber seals , I was doubtful and well no problem, it worked and the conservation nickel, so don't bother trying to add a seal : Mrgreen:

for the durations, there are tables, too long you will end up with always overcooked, soft damage to the texture

This is what I do I reused the lids. For a 2nd or even a third time it can work but the seal settles a little more each time.
I have already had a case where there has been a leak.

We are talking about commercial jars, with screwable lids ...

What I have observed is that sometimes it "rusts" ...

For most sizes, these covers are commercially available ...

Passing in gust of wind: same, already had cases of poorly jointed closure (soup) with reuse jars. I think that in a "low-cost" approach on foodstuffs that we would have lost anyway, that is not stupid.
The jars of mark with seal .... it is really not cheap.

Jars, in general, are not cheap. I wanted to buy very small jars with lids to give little gifts to passing people - it's overpriced!

the lids are more or less standard, so like for jams, my Cartesian side, I like having fairly standard jars too, suddenly, there are glass jars whose glass I recycle and I keep the lid, because in the end it is the cover that ages the worst

to make little jars, I asked a friend who works in a nursery to get me little jars baby : Mrgreen:

Didier writes it often, it's not the size that counts, despite that here is a photo of Brussels sprouts, they are very good, melting, a delight. I removed the task from the center, no doubt the beginning of rotting.

Passing a picture of my sweet potatoes from small tubers that had sprouts when harvested.

On a plot of the town with educational purpose, there was a push of blue feet of good size and number. Does this happen to you?
I have already had some on my plot but in small quantities.
