GMOs, all guinea pigs? Global map of GM crops

Move on, there is nothing to see, the Seralini study involving GMO corn and beyond that the Round-UP that goes with these corn is not valid ...

http://www.ouest-france.fr/ofdernmin_-O ... filDMA.Htm

As a reminder, the study had highlighted cases of cancer increased in rats by the ingestion of Monsanto corn and even greater risks combined with round-up.

Beyond the validity or not of the Seralini study, the industrialists (Monsanto) are judge and party in the study of the risks linked to their products! The tests are carried out over 3 months, a period too short to detect any problem related to the products.

Basically, if it doesn't kill you immediately, the product is good! :)

The EFSA if it was for a time not very independent and honest would have denounced the shortcomings of Séralini and recommended tests to fill these gaps.

With that, good GMO to all ....

if there were ONLY GMOs! but it is the same for drugs where the labs are judges and parties and now have almost total impunity for political protection. See the damage caused by Gardasil and similar, by the killer vaccines poisoning the blood of our children. It is not without reason that cancers exploded in 1/2 century as well as autoimmune diseases.

It was predictable, alas!
The authorities of health security are with the orders of the economic power, therefore, one should not expect much from them.
But the debate has been truncated from the start, the question is not even whether GMOs are dangerous from a health point of view, but simply to know what they are used for *?

* Apart from the candid, everyone knows that it is for the money ...

Map of GM crops in the world and it is progressing ... again ...

Image

GMO culture continues to grow in 2012

In 2012, the global surface of GM crops reached 170,3 million hectares according to the International Service for the Acquisition of Biotechnological Agricultural Applications (ISAAA), an international organization promoting GMOs. This is more than 3 times the total area of mainland France. GMOs thus reach around 13% of world crops. The increase is 10,3 million hectares compared to the previous year.

According to ISAAA data, the top 6 GMO producing countries are the United States (69,5 million hectares), Brazil (36,6 million), Argentina (23,9 million ), Canada (11,6 million), India (10,8 million) and China (4,0 million). Together, in 2012 they cultivated almost 92% of the total area devoted to these transgenic plants.

The surface of GMO plants is currently growing mainly in developing countries. Moreover, in 2012, for the first time, the areas of GMOs planted in these countries were greater (52%) than those of industrialized countries (48%).

17,3 million farmers used genetically modified plants worldwide in 2012 according to the ISAAA. Over 87% of them were farmers on small farms in developing countries.

In the European Union, 5 countries have grown more than 129 hectares of Bt corn, up 000% compared to 13. These are Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and from Romania. Germany, Poland and Sweden have stopped growing it. Remember that there have been no more GM crops in France since 2011.

What are the majority GM crops?

The main GM crops are soybeans, corn, cotton and rapeseed. In 2012, 81% of soybeans, 81% of cotton, 35% of corn and 30% of rapeseed grown in the world were GMOs according to ISAAA!

Between 1996 and 2012, tolerance to herbicides was by far the dominant characteristic exploited for GMO plants. Tolerance to herbicides, found in corn, soybeans, rapeseed, cotton, sugar beet and alfalfa, represented approximately 59% of the total area of transgenic crops in 2012; insect resistance about 15%. The combination of two characteristics (herbicide tolerance + insect tolerance) continues to progress and reaches around 26% of the world area of GM plants.

GMOs are therefore always only prepared to resist a herbicide in order to simplify spreading or produce their own insecticide.
