by julian » 23/03/07, 20:57

Hello, I am a student in last year of humanity (college Binche) and wants to complete my work end of study by a survey that would give me an idea of what people think of deforestation.
This will take a few minutes of your precious time but will be of great help to me.
Thank you in advance.

In my opinion you will have faster to type "deforestation" in google.

I have been listening to 2 radio shows recently with hyper-specialized guests in the field, if I find my notes, I will show you the name of the books.

Only when he has brought down the last tree, the last river contaminated, the last fish caught that man will realize that money is not edible (Indian MOHAWK).

Hi Julian!

We may not be doing your job for you, but finally

Mini survey (a very short answer minimum per question please) Your age: 52

· Excessive exploitation of forest tree species
· ......................................................
Quote the benefits of deforestation
· see above
· ......................................................
· .......................................................
What are the disadvantages of deforestation?
· Restriction of animal habitats
- losses of plant and animal species
· Decrease of oxygen producing areas
and absorbents of CO2
· Decrease in areas where you can be away from home
Should man react to deforestation YES NO:
NO, MAY BE ???? .....................
Why
· ..........................................................
· .........................................................
· ...................................................... ..

As long as some filthy bourgeois capitalists and rotten politicos will find their interest in it, we do not see how.

same answers as elephant with some precisions.
The reasons for deforestation are about the same depending on the country: replacing forest areas little valued financially by cultivated areas (soya, palm ...) more profitable in the short term.
I will also add desertification as a direct and indirect cause of the retreat of the forest.

On the other hand, the solutions are very different according to the situations internal to each country.
Thus, Cameroon seeks more and more to preserve its main wealth, the forest in:
- forcing Western companies to process logs on-site to recover value added and support employment
- setting up real management plans
- creating reserves
- fighting against corruption

Admittedly, this example is still marginal but it traces a path. We can not prevent poor countries from exploiting their natural wealth, but initiatives must be encouraged so that a maximum of capital gains remain in the producing country.
It is by giving value to the forest that men are motivated to protect it.

I believe that the Republic of Congo (not Kinshasa, the other)
is very forest, as is Gabon!
