Since the 1er June, change sorting instructions in Grenoble. (This is my home!)

South Isére generalized recycling of plastic packaging toous

Since 1er June 589.000 195 common people of South Isère (either 48% of the population of the department) can throw all their plastic packaging in the green bin. Objective: To simplify the sorting gesture for users and generalized recycling of plastic packaging on all of France by 2022, as part of the energy transition law.

How to throw garbage yoghurt pots, trays and other plastic bags? Everyone had once known this moment of doubt and loneliness before his green bin ... Now it is only a bad memory. sorting instructions have been simplified: all plastic packaging without exception flow, bulk bag without, well drained, unwashed and not nested. A device initiated by several communities of municipalities that won last September, the call for projects launched by Eco-packaging. The laureats ? Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, the Community of communes of Grésivaudan, Community common Matheysine, Pays de Corps and Valleys Valbonnais, Community Commons of Trièves, the Syndicate of collection and treatment of household waste (Sictom ) South Grésivaudan, and sorting Corporation Athanor (Star).

Simplify sorting gesture

"This synergy intercommunalités was a prerequisite for the case to be accepted by Eco-packaging," says Richard Quemin, Regional Director East Centre of the company responsible for organizing the national system of sorting and recycling.

This "dynamic global territory", as underlined Georges Oudjaoudi, 17e delegate Vice President for the prevention, collection and recovery of waste, reflects a common desire to simplify sorting gesture to thousands of users, often discouraged by the complexity of the task.

"We are currently revising our copy on the collection and treatment of waste," said the latter. "We hope that all the devices that we will implement will mean easier for residents. And regarding our communities, more efficiency, including ecological, "says the one. What certainly improve the recycling of waste plastics, not sufficiently valued today.

The challenges of recycling plastics
More than a million tonnes of plastic packaging are put on the market each year (in France) and only 230 000 are recycled. The recycling rate is 22,5% in 2010 for all plastic packaging and 46% if we only consider bottles and vials.

This is one of the big problems of sorting in France: the instructions change from one municipality to another (and change over time).

Result: when you go on vacation or on the move, you don't know what to do, and as the collectors are sometimes a little "psycho-rigid", they leave you a whole garbage can of recyclable because there is an element that does not. shouldn't be there.

Result: outside the home, everything ends up in the "common" trash :|

Yes in Belgium it is much more "clean" (we sort plastic bottles ... by color! Yes) but there are also municipal disparities!

Originally from Alsace, I was quite shocked during my first (and last) stay in Marseille 2001: they put the glass bottles in the trash classic ... short tri level 0 :) I think that has changed since!

I remember when I was young at 5 or 6 years to sin the bottles in glass bubbles it paid us some carambar lol ... sorting the glass goes back (at least) in the early 1980!

the current sort is flying!

the recyclable material must have a positive value: the one who has time to properly sort must be able to earn money with what he has sorted

a long time ago the glass of bottle had a certain value ... since the organization of the current recycling the glass has no more value, so do not be surprised that some put it in the ordinary trash

if the recyclable materials were all well-known value, all those who have a difficult end-of-the-month would carefully sort out to earn some money, and those who have enough money to not need it would otherwise benefit from this. that he throw

why do we need special trucks to collect recyclable materials: when we go to race we carry what we buy it would cost nothing to carry its bottle and empty packaging by the same means every time we go to race ... it is enough for the purchase of recyclable materials to be made in the same place

Waste: the Valdelia eco-organism exceeds 75% recycling and reuse

the 30 / 06 / 2016

The Valdelia eco-organization dedicated to the management of professional furniture at the end of its life, collected 26 413 tons of furniture waste in 2015, against 17 745 tons in 2014 (up by 49%). On this deposit, more than 75% was recycled to produce new raw materials or reused via the social and solidarity economy. Valdelia thus exceeds, two years in advance, the target set by the government to reach a rate of reuse and recycling of 75% by 2017.

"The end of 2015, its balance sheet, established after just under two years of operation, highlights a sharp rise in the volume of furniture collected," said Arnaud Humbert-Droz, General Manager of Valdelia. But there is still a way to go and the potential is enormous. In 2015, 230 000 tons of professional furniture have been sold. Last year, 12 662 collection operations were deployed throughout France in the context of moving operations, redevelopment or renovation of workspaces or production areas, computerization and dematerialization ... Among the emblematic operations of the year in terms of volumes and logistics, include the 1300 m3 furniture, the APHP, Disneyland Paris, Hyatt Hotel, MGEN.

The eco-organization relied on a network of renewed collection and treatment providers. It has multiplied and brought its VPAs closer to the city centers, strengthened its links with solidarity economy partners and increased the number of treatment centers. Valdelia now brings together almost all the players in the professional furniture sector in France: 95% of them are members, up by 7% compared to 2014. Finally, the eco-organism won the ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and RSE 26001 certifications, plus an evaluation according to the ISO 26000 CSR standard.

Orplast: 68 companies helped to integrate more recycled plastic

At the end of a call for projects launched in January 2016 by Ademe, the Orplast device will already finance 68 companies for a total amount of 15 million euros. Objective: to support the integration of recycled plastics in industrial production in a logic of circular economy and preservation of resources.

The 68 winners bring together VSEs, SMEs and large companies consuming polymers. They come from all over France. And have been selected from 140 applications. Successful candidates work in construction, packaging or automotive. Other common points: the desire to use recycled plastic in addition to or in replacement of virgin resin; the integration of recycled material in the long term, involving adaptations of the production tool and a local supply.

The most represented region, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, lists 17 companies among which, AGPlast, Calor, Barbier, or Veka sas. We can also mention: DSSmith, Plastic Omnium and Rehau Industrie in Great East, Roxane, mineral known notably with Cristaline, in Hauts-de-France, Nexans and Renault in Ile-de-France, MPM, the only candidate presented and retained in the DOM and from Martinique, the equipment supplier Faurecia in New Aquitaine and ABVAL Composites in Pays-de-la-Loire.

For budgetary reasons, ADEME has selected 26 additional projects awaiting funding. Helps could be unlocked for the end 2016 or start 2017. This proactive measure of the public authorities is part of a plan developed by the Strategic Committee of the Chemistry-Materials sector, aiming to increase by more than 250 000 tons per year, the industrial demand for recycled plastics (all resins combined). .

The sorting of waste is democratized on motorways

By the editorial staff, the August 5 2016

According to the results of the 2e edition of the Vinci Autoroutes - Ipsos survey on the French and the environment on the holiday route, the sorting gesture is becoming widespread but efforts still need to be made.

The survey reveals that more than 3 4 (French 76%) declare sorting their waste on motorway areas (+ 5 points compared to 2015) A practice favors by the presence of sorting bins on 100% of the areas of the Vinci Autoroutes network, which has enabled 2015 to recycle more than 200 t from collected packaging, but the holiday period is always synonymous with relaxation: if 96% of people sort bottles and plastic packaging at their disposal. home, they are indeed less numerous (78%) to do it on their place of holidays, and on the areas during their journeys (66%, is 30% less).

Among people who do not have the reflex to sort, we invoke the choice of least effort or ignorance of the principles of sorting. 67% prefer the nearest bin, even when it does not sort recyclable waste and 24% say hesitate on the bin to use. One good thing however: among people who are hermetic to sorting, only 4% consider that sorting does not change much in the state of the environment and 2% that it is a waste of time.

On the road, almost a French on 3 (31%) declares that he sometimes throws waste by the window of his car. It can be cigarette butts or chewing gums (18% against 21% 2015), organic waste such as apple core or core, for example (23% against 24% 2015), or papers , tissues and packaging (5% against 6% in 2015). Each year, the highway agents pick up 4 900 t of litter on the edge of the French motorways.

Strong rise in the collection of used furniture in 2016

12th May 2017

The Eco-furniture eco-organization has collected nearly 366.000 tons of used furniture in 2016 waste. This is an increase of 46% over 2015. 91% of the furniture collected and sorted by the eco-organism was valued last year: 58% recycled (that is to say, revalued in the form of material) and 33% recovered in energy.

Dominique Mignon, Managing Director of Eco-Meubles welcomed these results on May 11 despite "an economic and technical context which remains tense". "The strong increase in furniture collection in 2016 is the result of close and effective collaboration with all of our partners: local authorities, professional distributors and logistics providers, social and solidarity economy platforms", t -she underlined in a press release.

2016 end, the rate of storage of used furniture was less than 10%. More than 3.000 collection points are also listed, an increase of more than 30% over 2015.

Suez France inaugurates a sorting center in Carcassonne

SYLVIE BROUILLET Factory New 12 / 04 / 2018

Delegate of Covaldem 11, Audeval (Suez) has just inaugurated an environment center of 10 million euros in Carcassonne (Aude), whose sorting capacity is shared with a Suez site in Narbonne (Aude) to optimize flows. In addition, Audeval is expected to launch in the autumn 2018 the site of a material recovery unit in Alzonne, near Carcassonne.

Image

The Environment Pole of Carcassonne, set up by Suez via its subsidiary Audeval for the joint syndicate Covaldem 11, which groups 384 communes audoises (240 000 inhabitants), was officially inaugurated on April 6, was. Suez had obtained a public service delegation of 19, effective January 1 2016er. Built for nearly 10 million euros, including 2 contributed by Citeo, the environment division annually collects 30 000 tons of waste and processes 18 000 tons. The mechanical, optical and aeraulic sorting tools can process up to 6 tons of waste per hour. To optimize flows, Suez benefits from another center operating in the Aude - Narbonne, 60 km. Selective collection flows are handled by the Carcassonne site for both Covaldem 11 and Greater Narbonne, while the bulky flows of the two zones are treated by the Narbonne site.

On the job side, if the collection / sorting center employs 22 people, Audeval has 70 employees working for the Carcassonne environment center. The site includes a new generation waste disposal facility, the Recydrive, where the user makes only one stop regardless of the type of waste brought and a fun and educational Tri Aventure. It also hosts the Le Grenier Ressourcerie, operated by two local associations of insertion (a dozen posts).

An early material recovery unit 2020

The contract also provides for the creation by Audeval in Alzonne, north-west of Carcassonne, of a composting platform for green waste (operational, it sells its first standardized compost AB) and a material recovery unit ( UVM) for 12 million euros. This UVM is waiting for its authorization decree, and the public inquiry on the license to operate will begin the 27 April. According to Covaldem 11, the start of work is scheduled for 2018 fall, with a start of testing and testing a year later and a first-quarter delivery 2020. The unit will be sized to receive 70 000 tons per year of residual household waste, transit and consolidation of 3 000 tons of bio-waste per year.
