Smart and eco-friendly reality TV: Dare to go Zero

Hello,
This is a reality show that is useful for something.
Reduce the volume of your trash can.

Finally a reality show that tackles waste!

In general, reality shows consist of following the daily lives of more or less known people, in a more or less hostile environment. Whether you are a fan of the genre or not, you have to admit one thing: reality TV is useless. But the show "Dare to go Zero" could be a game changer.
This program comes to us from Austin, in the USA, and aims, not to lose weight, to survive in the jungle or to keep an event of one's life secret, but to minimize the production of waste for families.

Produced by the City of Austin Waste Management Program,
"Dare to Go Zero" brings together four families whose common goal is to reduce the size and weight of their bins in five weeks.

For this purpose, family garbage is weighed every week. In the end, the family with the highest percentage of "waste loss" receives a package worth $ 2.000 to sustainably renovate their home.

I had seen the "same thing" in the "smart reality TV" genre, with a family in Sweden (or Norway or Finland ...) which was followed for 1 years to consume as little oil as possible ...

And what does this show look like?
