In 2011, 1.016.622 mobiles were recovered in France, compared to 835.000 in 2010 and only 485.000 in 2009, according to a press release from the French Telecoms Federation, published on Monday May 14. This announcement coincides with the launch of a new awareness and information site on mobile phone collection, Rapportersonmobile.fr.

The objective of the Rapportersonmobile.fr site is to highlight the environmental and economic challenges of this approach. It also proposes to discover all the collection points, as well as the financial rewards that operators can offer to their customers in exchange for their old mobile.
