As usual, recycling a tire is not easy and takes energy to separate the steel and the rubber. On the other hand, to make noise-proof walls, that's the best: You have to cut them in half and then stack them several meters high, the "hollow" towards the noise source ... isn't that beautiful? well just put a metal, wood, glass, concrete, earth fairing, with a pretty openwork grille in front and basta, here is an eternal and inexpensive noise barrier ...

Hello, when the implementation of the compulsory collection garages actually had to pay recycling and pass on to customers of some or drifts but now it's like the oil directly integrated to the sale price of manufacturing.

Beautiful project, hope it succeed:

A tire recycling project in the former premises of Arc International

10 May 2016 Les Echos

Called "Entyrecycle", the project will create fifty jobs this summer and term 250.

2010 announced in the spring, the Franco-British draft Entyrecycle plant recycling and recovery of used tires, which should have realized it three years ago, this time seems revived. This is to separate the different polymers that make up the tire to draw a reusable raw material for materials such as plastic panels for homes, playgrounds and even to remake the wheel.

The process does not emit, according to the company, smoke or chemical fumes or dust. The site receives aggregates provided by tire shredding companies and does not need to do this job. "The project has been delayed because the company, to secure its process, had to apply for patents, but it took the opportunity to refine its process," says Saint-Omer Flanders Interface Enterprises, the responsible economic development agency of the project. Founded in Saint-Omer five years ago by Alan Higginson Entyrecycle the company is poised to buy 16,4 hectares of the former premises of Arc International in the town of Blaringhem, next to Saint-Omer. More 6,4 hectares of industrial buildings and 2.000 square meters of office remain there.

26 million investissement

Once the acquisition is made, account Entyrecycle transform the site this spring to settle this summer and start production with initially fifty employees, a workforce that is expected to 250 term. The total investment amounts to EUR 26 million, 10 for the real estate component. The facility will also house a research and development. But Entyrecycle is already registered and already in an international development plan since the company plans to export its technology in Europe but also in Asia.
These 16 hectares are part of an area of 43 hectares that enters a site revitalization program signed by the Flemish Community of communes Indoor regional land public property and the area in order to offset job losses related to restructuring in 2010 Arc International.

There is a dynamic sector in recycling caoutchuc: rough terrain soil, various products. I saw yesterday in DIY store, a plate 500x500 mm, and Match of colors, to put under the lava linens.

Aliapur has collected 335 000 tons of tires in 2016

By Frédéric MARTY Thursday 4 May 2017

The tire collection organization broke its record in 2016 with 335 000 tons of recovered envelopes, 102% of the order placed by its shareholders and customers.

Aliapur broke its record in 2016 with 335 000 tons of used tires collected, equivalent to a little more than 44 million gums VL. A higher 2% result on the order placed by its shareholders and customers. This almost reasonable gap would show that the number of companies introducing tires without paying the eco-contribution remains limited. "The fines imposed in 2016 have had a significant psychological effect on professionals who do not respect the rules," notes Hervé Domas, Managing Director of Aliapur. "This result is therefore a reflection of the tire market", he continues. A market that has led shareholders and customers of Aliapur to order 350 000 tons of envelopes collected over the year 2017. A target that will be supported by renewed providers. Indeed, tenders have seen 27 collection companies and 12 shredders retained until 2020.

Valuable leads for valuations

Last year, close to 38% of the tires collected took the path of energy recovery while 44% were subjected to a material valuation. Finally, 18% of these envelopes were reused (used and retreaded). Among the research and development related to aggregate, a project of material intended for sound insulation could soon result, with the help of industrial partners. Other tracks are under study but Aliapur prefers to remain discreet on the subject. One of the projects that could help many recovery routes is the exit of waste status from the used tire. A first step was taken in 2016 with the release of this status for reusable tires. An advantage for collectors who will be able to export these gums abroad more easily. Only the recognition of the advantages of aggregate can increase its value and therefore lower the eco-contribution, which still stands at 1,25 euros for tourism tires.

I received tonight .. so BEFORE the report of the Special Envoy this communiqué of the Ministry

PRESS RELEASE

Risks related to the use of recycled rubbers in the manufacture of synthetic sports grounds:

concerned ministries seize ANSES

The ministries of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, Solidarities and Health, Economy and Finance, Labor, Agriculture and Food and Sports jointly decided to seize the National Agency food safety, environment and work (ANSES) on the potential risks associated with the use of recycled rubber aggregates, especially in synthetic sports fields.

The recovery of used tires in the form of granules and materials used in the production of synthetic pitches is one of the main “material” recovery methods of the French tire waste management sector. These synthetic pitches raise questions about their impact on health and the environment due to the dangerous substances potentially present in the granules, in particular in the context of their use as sports fields and playgrounds for children.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) concluded, after carrying out a preliminary risk assessment in 2017, for human health, related to the use of recycled rubber granules in synthetic turf, at a low level of concern over the concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons measured in pellets below regulatory concentration limits under the European chemicals regulation REACH.

On this basis, ANSES will analyze available data and studies on the main substances present in these granules and rubber materials and the level of concern they generate due to their intrinsic hazards, their concentration or the modes of use. exposure, so that conclusions can be reached on any health and environmental concerns that may result.

ANSES will study the main exposure routes for the general population, the workplace population and the environment (sports fields, children's playgrounds, animal bedding, etc.).

I just saw this show sent special: it's serious ... the tire pellets in the sports field seem to be dangerous ... but if it's dangerous in the sports field grosgrain it means that it is even more dangerous in fine dust of all the tires used on the road

so it confirms my doubt about the origin of microparticles in cities! tire wear must be a good part! putting everything on the back of diesel is maybe a mistake

whatever the petrol or electric diesel engine it will continue to use the tire

as tire wear is always and everywhere we can not see directly the danger it causes ... the recent fashion of use of recycled tire in the sports field makes a change that allows to see the impact on health ... it may be possible to understand the rest

Not so inert old tires finally ... at least in the water (so on and underground too ... because of the streaming water)

https://www.lemonde.fr/pollution/articl ... 52666.html

In Antibes, the sea polluted by 25 000 tires that were to serve as a refuge for fish

These truck tires were supposed to serve as artificial reefs, but proved to be toxic.

Looking at the turquoise water of the Gulf of Juan Bay from the Océa Bridge, moored at 800 meters off the coast of Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), it's hard to imagine the underwater dump that lies beneath the surface. Yet, thirty meters lower, 22 500 tires are crammed on four acres.

In his cockpit, Marc Capart monitors the six divers who go back and forth with the bottom all day to go up one by one. He keeps his eyes fixed on his control post, connected to their GoPro camera.

Difficult to understand what is happening on the screen: it is near noon, the mud was raised all the morning by the previous divers. You can barely see the gigantic truck tires that the Morgan Postic diver puts on strings like pearls on a wire. They are then lifted by a crane onto the deck of the vessel and stored in containers. "You have thirty seconds left! "Warns the supervisor in the radio, while his diver is still at 40 meters deep. The camera moves, Morgan Postic leaves the bottom, and begins the long climb in stages to reach the surface.

Hope to create an artificial reef

Twenty-five minutes later, he lights a cigarette on the deck while his colleagues sort and store the tires he has managed to climb. Thirty-five for forty minutes spent at the bottom. Little fishing. "When they are not scattered everywhere, we can go back 150 at once," he says. Almost intact, without a trace of coral or seaweed, they dry on the pontoon. On the 3 000 and some tires put back since the beginning of the operation, the 21 September, none carry the least remnant of octopus or capon, a fish however common in the region.

(Switzerland) The Grand Council is not out of the game synthetic grounds built from recycled tire balls

12.09.2018

The Grand Council rejected by 61 votes against 54 a postulate asking that future sports surfaces are not covered with particles based on recycled tires.

The Grand Council of Valais does not whistle off synthetic sports pitches built from recycled tire balls. The cantonal legislature refused on Tuesday morning an assumption presented by Jean-Michel Savioz, deputy of the Liberal-Radical Party. The final result bears witness to a tight match, 61 negative votes, 54 favorable and 4 abstentions. "It's a disappointment because the constraints of the postulate were minimal," says the initiator. "They did not involve a renovation of the existing surfaces, but that the new grounds are made with the alternatives already available such as cork or thermoplastic elements. The municipality of Sion did it on its facilities of the Old-Stand. "The request also sought the establishment of a detailed list of the county's lawns and sports fields containing rubber granules made from recycled tires. He added a follow-up of the health problems related to the use of these surfaces.

Studies in the United States, as well as articles and documentaries published in France during the autumn, had raised the question of a potential health threat due to the use of these marbles. "The question goes beyond the political divide," notes Jean-Michel Savioz. "It is part of a public health framework beyond the borders of Valais since several countries have already made decisions to respect the precautionary principle. It was my goal. The vote had a negative outcome. It's democracy. "

AVF without worry

Member of Parliament, under the banner of the Christian Democratic Party, Aristide Bagnoud took the floor during the debates. "These fields are not a concern for the AVF, says the president of the Valaisan Football Association. Studies at the European and Swiss levels show that these surfaces do not threaten the health of players to such an extent as to prohibit them. It is more harmful for the body to walk in a big city when the temperatures are very high in the summer. In addition, there is evidence that rain contributes to washing and eliminating hydrocarbons. "The negative vote of the Grand Council expels from Parliament the theme of health risks of synthetic grounds until the end of the current legislature, until 2021. "Artificial lawns will be more and more frequent at home, especially at altitude," predicts Aristide Bagnoud.

Crans-Montana changes

The negative outcome of the postulate before the cantonal Parliament will not change the option chosen by Crans-Montana, which will proceed to a renovation without rubberized particles based on recycled tires of the current configuration of the land of La Moubra. The commune had reacted following the various publications mentioning the potential health threat of such surfaces. The refurbishment, necessary after twelve years of operation, will give the opportunity to the parties concerned to renew a land with the maximum use. "It could take another year or two according to an analysis we requested," says Nicolas Feraud, president of the town of Crans-Montana. "The change will be quickly proposed. The conclusion that logs are not potentially dangerous is not enough for us. This is a big investment, but there is no cost to children's health. "The transition from one synthetic surface to another requires an 650 000 franc investment.
