New material from waste: vinizol

by elephant » 31/03/12, 18:27

Russian researchers have developed a new and promising material made from waste:

This material is similar to natural wood in its properties, but it exceeds wood in its resistance to fire, heat and frost. In addition, it can be used longer and costs about half the cost of wood. This invention received the name of vinizol and arouses great interest from Russian and foreign companies, specialized in the construction of low-rise buildings.

unfortunately I couldn't find out more.

A brief search gives this info:

these are more or less recovered plastics, loaded with ashes from garbage incinerators, mixture of a lot of plastic with ashes, see the photos !!!

The material is free at least in Russia but recycling plastic alone is perhaps as good ???

Project description
The technology of manufacturing of the new fireproof constructional building material was developed at the Mineral processing and
engineering ecology department (MPEE) of Irkutsk state technical university (ISTU). The proposed material is based on Ash-and-Slag (Heat
electropower station wastes) and polymer waste products.

VINIZOL is close to the natural wood and excels it by some of its characteristics: heat resistance, frost resistance, chemical and biological
durability (rotting, molding), longevity. Porosity introduces new advantages to the developed material, such as ease, water resistance
and hydrophobic property.
The VINIZOL's manufacturing technique is extrusion.
It is planned to carry out the scientific research simultaneously with the manufacturing, that will allow to produce the diversified material's
tidy. It will be possible at the expense of using waste products and variation of the specific content of ash in the base mixture.
Due to the VINIZOL's water resistance and high durability it can be applied to: outboard walls, houses paneling, terraces, hortensial
furniture, decks, patio, outboard window and door frames, fences, roof tile, piers, pavements, vessel's deck.
VINIZOL can also be used indoors: floor, ceiling, doors, inner window and door frames, wall panels, furniture, veneer, plinth, etc.
The material developed is able to meet competition as it matches up-to-date fire and ecological safety demands. As VINIZOL is based
on cheap large-capacity waste products, its cost is much lower than the analogues' ones.
VINIZOL is machined by all the same tools as natural wood. The material developed is easily sawed, planed and perforated. It can also
be easily dyed. It holds up pins, cramps and screws. Some of the material's sorts can be cemented; some other ones can be welded in
common with the plastic.

elephant, I believe that 1 post on 2 (see more) you are wrong about the money forum... this subject has nothing to do with "Society" ... I move in recycling ...

Could you please be a little more careful where you post? Thank you!

Well, in fact, I never break down by subject, I think there was something that escaped me. : Oops:

Hoot this after 5147 messages? : Cheesy:

In fact it's simple, to "ventilate", you have to be in the right "sub forum"before clicking on" new "to create the new topic in the right place ...
