Driving an electric car every day
Re: Driving an electric car every day
Yup, concretely we are moving from the diesel SUV to the electric SUV and we continue on the trajectory of the maximum waste of resources to prolong the holy growth.

Re: Driving an electric car every day
This is where the incompatibility between determinism and freedom appears. And seems to break any "ideal aim" (if not ideological) as an intermediate consensus (or something...)Ahmed wrote:Sorry, I didn't understand your answer that way...
Forhorse, this is not the perfect solution fallacy, but a false solution that (as usual) only shifts the problem.
And that's what bothers me in an idealist approach, (which would like to be humanist) where freedom is telescoped by the dictatorship of reality (whereas, asshole, she asked nothing of anyone ) when it should be the engine of the imagination...
Instead, the paradox is that the world seems to be ineluctably led by determinism even though it is determinism that will lead us to the end, to the result of all our contradictions and a contrario all the impossibilities of "progress" (I say that without wanting to give a definitive definition to this word)
it's a bit like in thermodynamics, if determinism first leads to a point of equilibrium, then ultimately to 'statism' (the ultimate state where everything is complete and nothing moves)
And if so, I must say that it is disappointing, I who thought I saw in this word a more "philosophical" than "physical" notion.

I prefer to move the problem to a solution where it is more manageable on a "regional" level than leaving it to be managed by "market forces". And it seems to me that the news proves me right.

The different rates for the same terminal ...
A nice example here, where unfortunately the chargemap is very misplaced...
chargemap tariff
Shell rate
freshmile fare
In my case, it will be around 3 hours of charge, so €5.40 for the time, and 33 kWh, €8.25, or around €14. I will not have full, but would be at more than 85% .... which will make the kWh more than 40 cts, it is the pb often with freshmile, and the time ....
If I was in zoé, to deliver my same thing, I would have only had 1h30, so 2.70€ for the time, and 8.25€, or about 11€.

Re: Driving an electric car every day
Let's say I have 250km, with a large portion at 120, and last year I put in around 40 kWh to refuel, or around 17, which gives around €7 for 100 km, taking an average 90-100 km/h.
This year, I will only leave about 3 hours.

Oops, it was 42kWh, and I had left the car for around 4 hours....
But it was only 10.50€....
But it was only 10.50€....

Re: Driving an electric car every day
10.50 was in 2022, and 25 cents per kWh is a good price per kWh in Belgium.
Often in Belgium and the Netherlands, it is more than 30 cents per kWh.
But 10.50€ for 250 km, that brings us to 4.20€ for 100 km.
I already paid about 90 cts per kWh in the Netherlands, 4-5 years ago...

In any case, the shift is beginning and electric is the lowest carbon solution, the most economical, provided that batteries and energy follow...
