After reading the post of lessdewatt I started looking for technical information on this new engine that equips the zoe. Especially to see if it is still of the wound rotor type, which avoids using very polluting rare earths to extract. The new motor is indeed of the wound rotor type, like the old one. The Renault Kangoo ZE had been launched before the Zoé, but while the compact electric has already received a new engine and a new battery, the Kangoo ZE had not evolved. Its time has finally come. I have doubts about the autonomy of this Kangoo when the craftsman in a hurry will return late at night with heating, headlights on and rear well charged. If the battery degrades over the years, there is the possibility of putting a group generator from 5 to 7 kw ..

Tesla: the charge now paid on Superchargers

In order to unclog its fast charging stations, Tesla will pay for their access from January 15, 2017. It will cost around € 20 to "refuel" a Supercharger..
The news appears to be a revolution as the users of electric cars have so far been used to having almost free energy. With the increase in the number of vehicles charged with electrons, the advantages are logically reduced. Tesla will therefore charge for access to its Superchargers from January 15, 2017. The official reason is a desire to unclog these fast charging stations. Tesla hopes to encourage home charging for daily needs ... Easier said than done with batteries of at least 70 kWh, which require many hours of charging.
The deadline of January 15 only concerns vehicles ordered new after that day. In fact, all the vehicles delivered before had contracted free lifetime access to the Superchargers. The new owners will still be entitled to a credit of 400 kWh, enough to cover approximately 1.600 km.
Superchargers paid per kWh
Once this credit is used up, it will cost € 0.20 per kWh. This will therefore give a price of 20 € for the full "full" of the new models equipped with the 100 kWh battery. This rate is quite close to the price per kWh of charging at home, with the speed of the service as a bonus. However, some may judge that this affects the competitiveness of Model S and Model X, by increasing their cost of use on long journeys. In the end, this brings Tesla closer to Diesel or plug-in hybrid models from a strict accounting point of view.
However, billing by kWh seems only the beginning. There is no doubt that the CCS Combo terminals set up by German manufacturers by 2020 will follow the same path, just like those announced by Charge Point. The latter, with a power of 400 kW will be even higher than the Superchargers (120 kW currently, 350 kW from 2017) and the CCS Combo (350 kW). The future therefore seems to be moving towards paid fast charging networks, managed by private operators ... A scheme very similar to that of service stations.

A consumption of 8L / 100 km in Ethanol85 costs the same price. And refueling takes only 5 minutes.
