After reading the post of lessdewatt I started looking for technical information on this new engine that equips the zoe. Especially to see if it is still of the wound rotor type, which avoids using very polluting rare earths to extract. The new motor is indeed of the wound rotor type, like the old one. I also came across some nice photos of the manufacture of these engines and I thought that it could also interest other people: http://paultan.org/2015/06/19/renault-z ... lant-0046/

The electric Renault Kangoo increases its range to 270 km

The Renault Kangoo ZE had been launched before the Zoé, but while the compact electric has already received a new engine and a new battery, the Kangoo ZE had not evolved. Its time has finally come. Well almost, since it is only in January that the full characteristics of the new Kangoo ZE will be revealed.

We only know for the moment the most important figure: an autonomy which goes from 170 to 270 km. But Renault added that it's not just the battery that changes, the engine too. And it's quite normal. It makes sense to rationalize production. The Zoé is available with 2 engines, and the Kangoo engine is not exactly the same as that of the original Zoé engine. We imagine that the Kangoo will adopt the engine that appeared on the Zoé in 2015, but we can ask the question of whether the Caméléon charger will be associated with it. We bet yes, at least optional. All the details on January 13, at the Brussels show.

I have doubts about the autonomy of this Kangoo when the craftsman in a hurry will return late at night with heating, headlights on and rear well charged. If the battery degrades over the years, there is the possibility of putting a group generator from 5 to 7 kw .. : Cheesy:

For its future electric vehicles, the Nissan Renault Mitsubishi alliance is banking on a common platform

the 19 / 12 / 2016 New Factory

Seen on the web Other components, such as the battery and the engine, should also be produced jointly for the vehicles of the three brands, although the decisions have not yet been fully decided on the subject, according to several French media and foreigners.

The electric vehicle passes for the first time the 1% of the new market in France over a year!

............
Very favored on the other hand by the State, with a "superbonus" of up to 10 euros for the scrapping of an old diesel, electric cars continued their rise in power, exceeding for the first time in a full year the threshold the 000% of registrations: 1% exactly, against 1,08% in 0,9.

Happy Siemens employees, they will be able to charge their electric vehicle free of charge at hundreds of Siemens sites:

Siemens employees can charge electric vehicles for free

January 2, 2017 dream

Siemens employees at as many as 100 of the company's locations in Germany can “fill up” their electric vehicles free of charge. This will apply not only to all-electric vehicles but also to plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. For this service, Siemens will use its existing network of charging stations, which it is expanding with normal and high-speed charging stations.

Tesla: the charge now paid on Superchargers

the 13.01.2017

In order to unclog its fast charging stations, Tesla will pay for their access from January 15, 2017. It will cost around € 20 to "refuel" a Supercharger..

Image

The news appears to be a revolution as the users of electric cars have so far been used to having almost free energy. With the increase in the number of vehicles charged with electrons, the advantages are logically reduced. Tesla will therefore charge for access to its Superchargers from January 15, 2017. The official reason is a desire to unclog these fast charging stations. Tesla hopes to encourage home charging for daily needs ... Easier said than done with batteries of at least 70 kWh, which require many hours of charging.

The deadline of January 15 only concerns vehicles ordered new after that day. In fact, all the vehicles delivered before had contracted free lifetime access to the Superchargers. The new owners will still be entitled to a credit of 400 kWh, enough to cover approximately 1.600 km.

Superchargers paid per kWh

Once this credit is used up, it will cost € 0.20 per kWh. This will therefore give a price of 20 € for the full "full" of the new models equipped with the 100 kWh battery. This rate is quite close to the price per kWh of charging at home, with the speed of the service as a bonus. However, some may judge that this affects the competitiveness of Model S and Model X, by increasing their cost of use on long journeys. In the end, this brings Tesla closer to Diesel or plug-in hybrid models from a strict accounting point of view.

However, billing by kWh seems only the beginning. There is no doubt that the CCS Combo terminals set up by German manufacturers by 2020 will follow the same path, just like those announced by Charge Point. The latter, with a power of 400 kW will be even higher than the Superchargers (120 kW currently, 350 kW from 2017) and the CCS Combo (350 kW). The future therefore seems to be moving towards paid fast charging networks, managed by private operators ... A scheme very similar to that of service stations.

20 € for 100 kWh ...

hm hm, some calculations; we can do 400-500 km with these 100 kWh at the outlet.

One way, it's 4 € to 5 € / 100 km

A consumption of 8L / 100 km in Ethanol85 costs the same price. And refueling takes only 5 minutes.

And There you go. The model "with Tesla tomorrow we shave for free"begins to crumble! : Idea:
