Thank you Christophe for your answer. But you go on a domestic application, I was wondering, as part of a research project for my courses, if the application for a solar power plant like Noor in Morocco is possible :)

No for solar power plants they are higher temperatures incompatible with palm oil (unless you go up enough for the evaporation stage but I do not know so interesting, I only leaned on the melting stage) .

Solar power plants store in molten salts ... we talked about it earlier in this topic.

If not do a search: search.php or look here: Solar-thermal / material-a-change-of-phase to store-the-heat-solar-t11286.html

ah yes, indeed the assumptions are radically different in this case ...

But between 42 ° C and 400 ° C, we are not on the same applications.

I finally found a comparative study of different vegetable oils, and according to the study, the applications are possible for temperatures up to 210 ° C having a flash point at 280 ° C ... The concern is that it There is not enough feedback on experiments to know in the long term whether the oils will hold in the long term given the risk of degradation of its composition ...

What seems odd to me is to see that the study in question seeks to demonstrate that they are viable fluids for heat transfer. But when I see thermo physical properties such as thermal conductivity, which are extremely low compared to water ... ^^ '

Can you share this study with us?

As said above, vegetable oil is not too suitable for high temperature storage, have you read: Solar-thermal / material-a-change-of-phase to store-the-heat-solar-t11286.html ?

Here is the link of the study
https://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-01284834/document

Yes I read but did not find what I was looking for ^^ actually energy storage is still a problem, and our biggest problem in most processes ... but in the link I send you, it's me seems to be dealing with some of this topic

Thank you, I'm going to watch :)

Waaaw published in March 2016, so very recent :)
One more thesis. Great search from you!

Oh no, if you're referring to Jean François Hoffmann, I would not have needed to look for a study like this ^^
