Solar thermal electric ball that disjuncts?

Solar thermal energy in all its forms: solar heating, hot water, choosing a solar collector, solar concentration, ovens and solar cookers, solar energy storage by heat buffer, solar pool, air conditioning and solar cold ..
Aid, counseling, fixtures and examples of achievements ...

Solar thermal electric ball that disjuncts?

by GuyGadebois » 17/11/19, 19:27

A quick question: My combined solar / electric heating trips often, especially when it rains. I suspect a "bad land". What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Can you describe your system a little better, a mixed "solar / electric" system is still very vague .....

Your link does not bring anything, if it is solar thermal there is no report.
In any case it has nothing to do on this thread, create a thread dedicated to your problem by characterizing it much better if you want to hope for advice.

I was wrong floor ... In short, I will demerder.

This is actually the best considering the subject of the thread, but once again nothing prevents you from creating a thread dedicated to your problem. It will certainly not address the big questions of the world today or tomorrow (not more than this one for that matter!), But you can perhaps hope for an answer if you know how to describe a little more precisely your worry.

Divided subject...

I imagine that Guy has this installation: solar thermal + complement / electric extension? Diagram on the right.

For starters, is it a 30 mA or an 300 mA that jumps?

If it breaks, it is either an overcurrent or a leak to the ground.
Since it is raining, it is most likely a current leak to the ground.
In all cases -> Find where the rain seeps into the electrical circuit.
(isolate circuits one by one)
I had a water infiltration behind the electrical panel : Mrgreen: (rift)

If it is absolutely related to the electric balloon, it is probably the resistance that has a lack of insulation but it should not be related to the rain ... it should be all the time.

whatever.

There is no current flowing in thermal panels ... I can not see the relationship between solar panels and rain so!
Especially since the solar circulator does not turn when it rains!

So no doubt, a wear or fault with the booster electrode that necessarily snaps more often in rainy weather, so nothing to do with the solar (except that it is a mixed ball) .. .

A few years ago I spent 2 days figuring out why the breaker in my cellar was jumping ... before I realized that an outdoor fixture (which I never used) was also on this circuit breaker ... and that he was full of water!

It is useful to know the wiring of its circuit breakers and to make rigorous tests by elimination!

It is also when it rains that the resistance is the most solicited.
If it breaks rather 22-23 h, and we have an HC-HP counter, it is rather an overconsumption. The solution would be to distribute the use of large consumers at other times, in this case : Wink:
But hey, I feel that guy is going to answer "you kidding me ..."
