Concentrating solar thermal power plants

Video 5 minutes on thermal concentrating solar power (a tower and parabolic cylindrical) in Spain.

on the site universcience http://www.universcience.fr/fr/science- ... ndalousie/

An interesting detail, the cleaning machine (with demineralised water!) Parabolic cylindrical mirrors!

Mégasoleil Andalusia

In southern Spain, the high-tech solar thermal power plants generate electricity 24h / 24. In 2050, this production could, according to the International Energy Agency, cover 25% of global electricity needs.

Deldeco, the IEA makes no political project, or prospectively in the best case ...

She probably base this analysis on the slowness that have political, financial, and users have to make a change in their consumption, especially the slow renewal of equipment installed bases: power plants still have a few decades, facilities refinements, vehicles, boilers, etc ...

While many of us like to call a 100% renewable energy mix, there is still work ... especially in the heads of decision makers and the general public.

Link to Google maps The construction of the central Ivampah solar (concentrated solar power) in the Mojave Desert, it's worth oeuil.

And I put here http://ivanpahsolar.com/photos-and-videos the link to the workshop web site with photo gallery (some full screen pictures are stunning!).

Small detail, there are '' desert tortoises '' on the site, and they have to do with asking for help biologists to move turtles and faires accommodations for turtles (subways). :D

Finally, once it moves a little
When I see the speed with which the Japanese have built a solar plant after Fukushima, it's really bad faith on the part of leaders.

In addition it makes the shade under the mirrors. They will be able to grow vegetables without the sun burns.
If North Africa it also puts more global food shortage and the French agriculture will be less competitive. Cleanup campaigns for?

This is an opportunity that opens. Human nature being what it is, it would be surprising if there were not attempted.
