The guy who says that is completely wrong, because it is explained by physics as a mass of warm air moving towards a mass of cold air. The mass of hot air having expanded by the action of the heat of the sun, only requires a return to equilibrium by warming the cold air.
The mill has been judiciously placed in the flow to extract part of the mechanical energy of the wind and transform it into electrical energy for the most modern, thanks to the spin of the electron... but always with a loss in the transformation Energy.
