To the Atlanteans? To the land of Mu? ... to the AND :?:

Conclusion of the authors of the film: "If an advanced civilization wanted to transmit us the proof of its existence, it would have bequeathed us this kind of construction, the only one apparently capable of withstanding the most extreme natural disasters".
As for the nature of this hypothetical "advanced civilization", I don't know, I wasn't there.
I like Anton Parks' books.

Why ? Because, in construction, you need to make things square, and the Egyptians used the "Egyptian triangle" whose proportions are 3 - 4 - 5.

The ratio 5 / 3 or hypothenous / short side or apothème / half-side = 1,666 result very close to the Number of Gold (to 3% near!).

NB: The pyramids of Giza do not have quite the same proportions.

Currently on ARTE, the Egypt of the pharaohs (in two parts)

The video no longer seems to be accessible:
"The revelation ..." This video is no longer available following a copyright infringement claim submitted by Films Seville / Christal.

It is true there is at least 4% of deviation .... : Evil:
H: Height of the pyramid
A: Half length of one side of the square base

H 66 136,5 146,71 21,6
A 54 105,25 115,174 17,5

the Order Mykerinos, Kephren, Cheops and Louvre

H1 / H Cheops 2,22 1,07 1,00 6,79
A2 / A Cheops 2,13 1,09 1,00 6,58
Deviation of reports 4% -2% 0% 3%

These are precise figures that avoid certain erroneous statements.

So they are the same proportions!

Yet all these figures are known ... : Idea:

For those who still doubt it, square pyramids are perfectly definable with only H and A!

This is a response but the pyramids are closer however to the golden number:

the Order Mykerinos, Kephren, Cheops and Louvre
1,6180 2,40% -1,21% -0,09% 1,82%
1,6667 5,25% 1,74% 2,83% 4,69%

Indeed
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apoth%C3%A8me

And this is calculated very quickly with the height H and the side 2A of a pyramid which are the two generally known and easily measurable elements. It is the hypotenuse (C) of the right triangle with sides H and A that is: C² = H² + A²

Leo Maximus wrote:About the dimensions of Cheops, there is this: http://www.khufu.dk/article/dimensions-outer.htm . It sounds serious. In any case, it is well presented! : Lol:

With the proposed dimensions have found C = 186.51 and the ratio
186.51 / 115.174 = 1.619, golden ratio accurate to 0.01%

And it is obvious that the Egyptians wanted to respect these dimensions.
They are found on the 3 Pyramids of Giza
Here they are in ascending order:
H 66 136,5 146.71
A 54 105,25 115,174
For those who want to have fun I let them do the math

The only question for debate in this thread, that is why?

Why?

The ancients had noticed that everything that is alive is organized and develops harmoniously around a relatively precise proportion. We will deduce later a number called "Golden Number" (Matila Ghyka).

We find the Golden Ratio in everything that lives, plants, animals, and Man.

The Golden Ratio is Life, quite simply.

It is possible that the Egyptians wanted to give eternal life to their pharaohs and their stone tombs.

Le Corbusier also used the golden ratio in its constructions, the result is how to say ... hum! :frown:

The Egyptians, like the builders of all times, were initiates (we do not say the same of the Freemasons ... and their origin, the Templars with the mythical builders of the Temple of Solomon ... etc). Besides, the great civilizations have left traces of what they have built and by what they have built.

After little try to nail the beak to the other trying to determine which of the chicken or the egg ... In short, on this shot I would say that to know if they used one or not this golden ratio is an endless and relatively secondary debate. Some did it since they said it, others were inspired by it? Mystery, let's not kill the dream ... What matters is the priceless heritage they left us ...

We can doubt the eternity of the Egyptian pharaohs, but in any case they have won their bet so far, their eternity lies in the fact that several thousand years later, we still talk about it!

It appears that at the time of today if the man were to disappear, only the pyramid of Egypt would remain as a witness to civilization (lifespan of more than 100000 years theoretical).
It is clear that all recent constructions, a fortiori in concrete, it is most difficult to go beyond the century without damage!

There is, however, one modern element that we will bequeath to the distant future: our nuclear waste! : Mrgreen:

Le Corbusier is a very bad example or a good example of the Golden Number misused! : Lol: . With its "Modulor", we have a ceiling of ... 2,26 m !.
