When my kids passed their baccalaureate, and I helped them a little with math, physics, it was that there were things, simple for me, that they did not master at all.
But, there were more complicated things for me, which they "mastered".

That's right, "culture" is relative to the era, but the math is still the same. I remember having published here proofs of the certificate of study of the beginning of the 20th century, which would dry out a bachelor of today. It is true that at the time, not everyone obtained the study certificate, whereas today, almost everyone obtains the baccalaureate. There is no doubt that the requirements have fallen, and that those of today who would have obtained their study certificate at the beginning of the 20th century and continued their studies, are today leveled on the least understanding on which the programs have adapted. Even if the former have the same potential as before, their intelligence is no longer sufficiently solicited and this results in a drop in IQ.
Left thinking, which is found in high doses in national education, has done and still does a lot of damage. I remember the time when it was said that a student ultimately had nothing to learn, it was enough to make him reveal himself.
